Effect of Twisting Phases on Linear–Circular Polarization and Spin–Orbital Angular Momentum Conversions in Tightly Focused Vector and Scalar Beams

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
We theoretically investigated the effect of a new type of twisting phase on the polarization dynamics and spin–orbital angular momentum conversion of tightly focused scalar and vector beams.

Orbital-Angular-Momentum-Controlled Hybrid Nanowire Circuit

open access: yesNano Letters, 2021
Plasmonic nanostructures can enable compact multiplexing of the orbital angular momentum (OAM) of light; however, strong dissipation of the highly localized OAM-distinct plasmonic fields in the near-field region hinders on-chip OAM transmission and processing.

Active ballistic orbital transport in Ni/Pt heterostructure

open access: yesNature Communications
Orbital current, defined as the orbital character of Bloch states in solids, can travel with larger coherence length through a broader range of materials than its spin counterpart, facilitating a robust, higher density and energy efficient information ...

Photonic Angular Momentum in Intense Light–Matter Interactions

open access: yesPhotonics
Light contains both spin and orbital angular momentum. Despite contributing equally to the total photonic angular momentum, these components derive from quite different parts of the electromagnetic field profile, namely its polarization and spatial ...

Reconfigurable Metamirrors Based on Compliant Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Providing the basis for numerous practical applications, the reconfigurability of metadevices is of great importance. Through the integration of controlled mechanical deformation with chiral meta‐atoms, a compliant mechanism based metamirror is demonstrated for active control over the polarization of electromagnetic waves.

Microwave-induced orbital angular momentum transfer

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
AbstractThe microwave-induced orbital angular momentum (OAM) transfer from a Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) beam to a weak plane-wave is studied in a closed-loop four-level ladder-type atomic system. The analytical investigation shows that the generated fourth field is an LG beam with the same OAM of the applied LG field.
