Modelling the Galactic Magnetic Field on the Plane in 2D

open access: yes, 2010
We present a method for parametric modelling of the physical components of the Galaxy's magnetised interstellar medium, simulating the observables, and mapping out the likelihood space using a Markov Chain Monte-Carlo analysis.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Large-scale Magnetic Field Model of GRB Afterglow Polarization: Effects of Field Anisotropy, Off-axis Viewing Angle, and Ordered Field

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The afterglows of gamma-ray bursts are nonthermal electron synchrotron emissions from relativistic shocks. The origin of strong magnetic field in the emission region remains elusive, and two field amplification mechanisms via the plasma kinetic and ...

Application of the Mean-Field Kinetic Method for Description of the Reaction Diffusion

open access: yesФізика і хімія твердого тіла, 2017
In this paper we present the results of modeling of the reaction diffusion in fcc structure between pure component A and orderedphase A1B1 using the kinetic mean-field method.

Mapping sequences can bias population receptive field estimates

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2020
Population receptive field (pRF) modelling is a common technique for estimating the stimulus-selectivity of populations of neurons using neuroimaging. Here, we aimed to address if pRF properties estimated with this method depend on the spatio-temporal ...

Giant magnetothermal conductivity and magnetostriction effect in charge ordered Nd$_{0.8}$Na$_{0.2}$MnO$_{3}$ compound

open access: yes, 2015
We present results on resistivity ($\rho$), magnetization ($M$), thermal conductivity ($\kappa$), magnetostriction ($\frac{\Delta L}{L(0)}$) and specific heat ($C_{p}$) of charge-orbital ordered antiferromagnetic Nd$_{0.8}$Na$_{0.2}$MnO$_{3}$ compound ...

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Interpretations of the 10% Polarization Observed in the Early Forward Shock Afterglow of GRB 091208B

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The ∼10% optical polarization observed at the early stage of GRB 091208B comes from the forward shock emission, which is higher than the conventionally predicted value.

The Most Probable Cause for the High Gamma-Ray Polarization in GRB 021206

open access: yes, 2003
The exciting detection of a very high degree of linear polarization, $P=(80\pm 20)%$, in the prompt gamma-ray emission of GRB 021206, supports synchrotron emission as being the dominant radiation mechanism.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...
