Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Numerical Solution of the Bagley-Torvik Equation Using the Integer-Order Derivatives Expansion

open access: yesScience Journal of University of Zakho, 2018
Numerical solution of the well-known Bagley-Torvik equation is considered. The fractional-order derivative in the equation is converted, approximately, to ordinary-order derivatives up to second order.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

One dimensional parabolic free boundary problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
The method of lines is used to approximate explicit and implicit free boundary problems for a linear one dimensional diffusion equation with a sequence of free boundary problems for ordinary differential equations.

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Analysis and numerical solution of a non-standard non-linear integro-differential boundary value problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The aim of this thesis is the analytical study and the development of a numerical method to solve a non-linear, integro-differential boundary value problem on the half line which is representative of a class of non-standard integral equations where the ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

On numerical solution of ordinary differential equations with discontinuities [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
summary:The author defines the numerical solution of a first order ordinary differential equation on a bounded interval in the way covering the general form of the so called one-step methods, proves convergence of the method (without the assumption of ...
