On the rate of convergence in periodic homogenization of scalar first-order ordinary differential equations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
In this paper, we study the rate of convergence in periodic homogenization of scalar ordinary differential equations. We provide a quantitative error estimate between the solutions of a first-order ordinary differential equation with rapidly oscillating coefficients and the limiting homogenized solution.

Symmetry Solutions of a Third-Order Ordinary Differential Equation which Arises from Prandtl Boundary Layer Equations

open access: yes, 2008
The similarity solution to Prandtl’s boundary layer equations for two-dimensional and radial flows with vanishing or constant mainstream velocity gives rise to a thirdorder ordinary differential equation which depends on a parameter a. For special values

Unraveling epigenetic heterogeneity across gastrointestinal adenocarcinomas through a standardized analytical framework

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that patients with gastrointestinal adenocarcinomas can be stratified into six distinct subtypes based on genome‐scale DNA methylation profiling. This stratification, achieved using a robust analytical framework, aligns with established tumor characteristics and holds potential to support prognostication.

Effect of different noise reduction techniques and template matching parameters on markerless tumor tracking using dual‐energy imaging

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose To evaluate the impact of various noise reduction algorithms and template matching parameters on the accuracy of markerless tumor tracking (MTT) using dual‐energy (DE) imaging. Methods A Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator was used to acquire a series of alternating 60 and 120 kVp images (over a 180° arc) using fast kV switching, on ...

Differential equations defined on algebraic curves [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
The class of ordinary linear constant coefficient differential equations is naturally embedded into a wider class by associating differential equations to algebraic curves.

Robust acute myeloid leukemia engraftment in humanized scaffolds using injectable biomaterials and intravenous xenotransplantation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived xenografts (PDXs) can be improved by implantation of a humanized niche. We tested different biomaterials and approaches, and demonstrate that the combination of an injectable biomaterial for scaffold creation plus an intravenous route for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) xenotransplantation provide the most convenient and robust approach to

Evaluation of an EPID in vivo monitoring system using local and external independent audit measurements

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose The aim of this work was to evaluate the SunCHECK PerFRACTION, the software for in vivo monitoring using EPID images. Materials/Methods First, the PerFRACTION ability to detect errors was investigated simulating two situations: (1) variation of LINAC output and (2) variation of the phantom thickness.

Conditional Linearizability Criteria for Scalar Fourth Order Semi-Linear Ordinary Differential Equations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
Using geometric methods for linearizing systems of second order cubically semi-linear ordinary differential equations and third order quintically semi-linear ordinary differential equations, we extend to the fourth order by differentiating the third order equation. This yields criteria for linearizability of a class of fourth order semi-linear ordinary

CRISPR targeting of FOXL2 c.402C>G mutation reduces malignant phenotype in granulosa tumor cells and identifies anti‐tumoral compounds

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
FOXL2 c.402C>G mutation drives granulosa cell tumors. Using CRISPR technology, we selectively corrected this mutation, reducing malignancy and increasing sensitivity to dasatinib and ketoconazole. Transcriptomic changes revealed potential therapeutic targets, demonstrating CRISPR's promise for treating this rare ovarian cancer.

Digital radiography image quality evaluation using various phantoms and software

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose To investigate the effect of the exposure parameters on image quality (IQ) metrics of phantom images, obtained automatically using software or from visual evaluation. Methods Three commercial phantoms and a homemade phantom constructed according to the instructions given in the IAEA Human Health Series No.
