Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Cyclic (noncyclic) phi-condensing operator and its application to a system of differential equations

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2019
We establish a best proximity pair theorem for noncyclic φ-condensing operators in strictly convex Banach spaces by using a measure of noncompactness. We also obtain a counterpart result for cyclic φ-condensing operators in Banach spaces to guarantee the

Solution of the inverse spectral problem for differential operators on a finite interval with complex weights [PDF]

open access: yesИзвестия Саратовского университета. Новая серия: Математика. Механика. Информатика
Non-self-adjoint second-order ordinary differential operators on a finite interval with complex weights are studied. Properties of spectral characteristics are established, and the inverse problem of recovering operators from their spectral ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Numerical solution of nonlinear boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations in the continuous framework

open access: yes, 2013
Ordinary differential equations (ODEs) play an important role in mathematics. Although intrinsically, the setting for describing ODEs is the continuous framework, where differential operators are considered as maps from one function space to another ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Picone-type inequality and Sturmian comparison theorems for quasilinear elliptic operators with p(x)-Laplacians

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2012
A Picone-type inequality for quasilinear elliptic operators with mixed nonlinearities and with p(x)-Laplacian is established, and Sturmian comparison theorems are derived on the basis of the Picone-type inequality.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

The HELP inequality on trees

open access: yes, 2008
We establish analogues of Hardy and Littlewood's integro-differential equation for Schrödinger-type operators on metric and discrete trees, based on a generalised strong limit-point property of the graph ...
