Compact Cas12 Systems for Multiplex Engineering of Plant Abiotic‐Stress Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Genetics, Volume 7, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Compact CRISPR‐Cas12 platforms, particularly miniature and hypercompact effectors such as Cas12f, Cas12j/CasPhi, and Cas12lambda, are emerging as delivery‐efficient tools for plant genome engineering because their reduced coding size facilitates viral‐replicon and other size‐constrained delivery routes while supporting dense guide multiplexing.

BIOCHEMICAL CHANGES ASSOCIATED WITH EXPERIMENTAL ORF INFECTION IN SHEEP AND GOATS

open access: yesPakistan Veterinary Journal, 2002
The inoculation of sheep and goats with contagious pustular dermatitis (orf) virus manifested typical clinical signs indicative of orf viral infection. The inoculated animal’s sero converted and showed significant decrease in total proteins.

Studies on orf virus infections in sheep

open access: yes, 1980
The clinical immune and serologieal responses of a flock of 44 sheep which suffered an outbreak of natural orf infection was monitored over a period of one year. Animals were shown to be almost solidly resistant to experimental reinfection of the mouth with a heterologous strain of orf virus up to one year after the outbreak.

Sublineage‐Specific A45S Polymorphism Alters the Biological Function of the Human Papillomavirus 11 E7 Protein

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 98, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The E7 oncoprotein of human papillomavirus (HPV) plays a crucial role in viral pathogenesis and replication. Although it is generally highly conserved across HPV genotypes, naturally occurring E7 variants can display functional differences that may affect viral persistence, oncogenic potential, and host cellular responses.

Functional Metagenomics Insights Into the Allium ampeloprasum Rhizosphere Microbiome Under Different Fertilization Regimes

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, June 2026.
Shotgun metagenomic sequencing was used to characterize the functional potential of the Allium ampeloprasum rhizosphere microbiome under chemical fertilizer (G1), biofertilizer (G2), and unfertilized (Bulk) soil (G3) management practices. This study revealed that different fertilization regimes altered microbial functional profiles.

Unveiling Marine Vesicle Uptake in Vibrio spp: Taxonomic and Environmental Insights

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, June 2026.
Extracellular vesicles are involved in diverse functions in nature from microbial interactions to pathogenesis. Here, we investigate whether taxonomy represents a boundary that constrains the uptake of vesicles between different marine bacteria including ubiquitous Vibrio spp. involved in marine organism diseases, such as corals.
