Uptake of Pramipexole by Human Organic Cation Transporters [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Pharmaceutics, 2010
Pramipexole is a hydrophilic, weakly basic drug, but exhibits high oral bioavailability in humans (>90%). In rats, rOct1 and rOct2 contribute toward pramipexole excretion into urine. The objective of this study was to assess whether pramipexole is a substrate for human OCT1-3.

Morphine Analogues: Relationship between Chemical Structure and Interaction with Proximal Tubular Transporters – Contraluminal Organic Cation and Anion Transporter, Luminal H+ /Organic Cation Exchanger, and Luminal Choline Transporter

open access: yes, 1995
In order to determine the role of different side groups in the interaction with different transporters, luminal and contraluminal stop-flow micro-perfusion was applied, and the apparent Ki values (mmol/l) of twelve morphine analogues were measured ...

Memristor‐Driven Active‐Matrix Organic Light‐Emitting Diode for Energy Efficient and High‐Resolution Displays

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that memristors can replace conventional 2T–1C driving circuits with simplified 1T–1 m architectures by exploiting resistance switching. With ultra‐low switching voltages (< ±0.2 V) and multi‐level resistance states, the memristors precisely control the current injected into organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs).

Regulation of renal organic cation transporters

open access: yesFEBS Letters
Transporters for organic cations (OCs) facilitate exchange of positively charged molecules through the plasma membrane. Substrates for these transporters encompass neurotransmitters, metabolic byproducts, drugs, and xenobiotics. Consequently, these transporters actively contribute to the regulation of neurotransmission, cellular penetration and ...

Rationally Designed Bilayer Passivation Strategy for High‐Performance Vacuum‐Processed Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bilayer “Anchor‐and‐Seal” passivation strategy using EDAI2 and 4MeO‐PEAI effectively mitigates surface defects in vacuum‐processed perovskite films through synergistic hydrogen bonding and Lewis base coordination. This approach optimizes interfacial energy alignment and suppresses non‐radiative recombination, enabling vacuum‐deposited p‐i‐n ...

Ventricular fibrillation without overt cardiomyopathy as first presentation of organic cation transporter 2-deficiency in adolescence

open access: yes, 2004
This case report describes ventricular fibrillation without overt cardiomyopathy us the presenting symptom of primary carnitine deficiency due to organic cation transporter 2 (OCTN2)-deficiency in a 15-year-old girl.

Solution‐Processed Two‐Dimensional Indium Oxide on Sodium‐Embedded Alumina for Reconfigurable Optoelectronic Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale two‐dimensioanl In2Se3 oxidized into InOx on sodium‐embedded beta‐alumina enables multifunctional reconfigurable electronics. Sodium ions accumulate within distinct spatial distribution under drain‐controlle and gate‐controlled operation. Drain‐control operation gives controllability of ultraviolet‐driven optoelectronic synaptic conductance

Investigating Transporter‐Mediated Drug‐Drug Interactions Using a Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic Model of Rosuvastatin

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology, 2017
Rosuvastatin is a frequently used probe in transporter‐mediated drug‐drug interaction (DDI) studies. This report describes the development of a physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model of rosuvastatin for prediction of pharmacokinetic (PK) DDIs.
