This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Compound-Specific δ^(34)S Analysis of Volatile Organics by Coupled GC/Multicollector-ICPMS [PDF]
We have developed a highly sensitive and robust method for the analysis of δ^(34)S in individual organic compounds by coupled gas chromatography (GC) and multicollector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC-ICPMS).

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

N-Heterocyclic-Carbene-Catalyzed Domino Reactions via Two or More Activation Modes
Summary: Organocatalytic domino processes have become a rapidly growing area of research. N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) have emerged as powerful organocatalysts for various transformations and continue to have widespread application. In the last decade,

Extractability of slurry and fertilizer phopshorus in soil after repeated freezing [PDF]
The potential effects of freezing on phosphorus (P) chemistry in Finnish soils are not well known. We studied the effects of multiple freeze-thaw cycles on soil P chemistry in a laboratory incubation experiment with one organic and one mineral surface ...

The organic chemistry in the innermost, infalling envelope of the Class 0 protostar L483
Context: The protostellar envelopes, outflow and large-scale chemistry of Class~0 and Class~I objects have been well-studied, but while previous works have hinted at or found a few Keplerian disks at the Class~0 stage, it remains to be seen if their ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Vladimir Prelog i organska kemija u proteklom stoljeću [PDF]
Organic chemistry in the past century has undergone several profound changes and Vlado Prelog, as the great organic chemist of our time, was actively involved in these changes. During the first half of the 20th century, synthesis of new organic compounds
