Design, Synthesis, and Acaricidal Activity of 2,5-Diphenyl-1,3-oxazoline Compounds
By using a scaffold hopping/ring equivalent and intermediate derivatization strategies, a series of compounds of 2,5-diphenyl-1,3-oxazoline with substituent changes at the 5-phenyl position were prepared, and their acaricidal activity was studied ...

Organization Still Matters [PDF]
Use of social media by political parties has become a part of their communication strategies. In Catalonia, where around 20% of Internet users obtain political information through Facebook and Twitter, parties use these channels widely. This article has examined 814 posts, 5,772 comments, 52,470 likes and 25,907 shares from the official Facebook pages ...

Near infrared spectroscopy for predicting quality indices in the organic fertiliser industry [PDF]
The carbon to nitrogen (C/N) ratio can provide information on the capacity of an organic input to be transformed into humus [1 - 3], but it is not sufficient in some cases [4].

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Climate change: carbon losses in the Alps [PDF]
The response of the terrestrial carbon cycle to global change is one of the main uncertainties in current climate change predictions1. Most terrestrial carbon is held in soils as organic matter derived from the decay of plant material (Fig. 1).

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
