A MANOMETRIC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF OXYGEN IN ORGANIC COMPOUNDS [PDF]
A vacuum analytical method for the determination of oxygen in organic compounds was developed. Several milligrams (usually 3 to 5 mg) of the organic to be analyzed are sealed in an evacuated quartz bomb along with 2.5 to 3.5 mg of an organic reducing agent. Next the bomb is fired at 1050-- 1055 deg C for 30 minutes or longer.

Direct Determination of Oxygen in Organic Compounds
The method for direct oxygen analysis as described by Schutze, Zimmerman and Unterzaucher has been modified. The Korbl catalyst was employed to remove some interfering gases and to oxidize carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide. The described method has been successful for the determination of oxygen in compounds which, in addition to carbon, hydrogen and ...

New organic matter degradation proxies: Valid in lake systems? [PDF]
We determined concentrations and diagenetic state of organic matter in two cores from Lake Zug, Switzerland. To obtain a general picture of organic matter decay in the lake, we measured bulk parameters such as total organic carbon, total nitrogen, and ...

Efficient alkane oxidation under combustion engine and atmospheric conditions
Efficient autoxidation of organic compounds typically requires that they possess double bonds or oxygen-containing moieties, which is why alkanes were thought to contribute little to atmospheric organic aerosol formation.

Real-time quantitative analysis of volatile products generated during solid-state polypropylene thermal oxidation [PDF]
Analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during PP thermal oxidation under three oxygen partial pressures (0%, 21% and 100% of atmospheric pressure) at 140 C was performed by proton transfer reaction coupled with Fourier transform ion cyclotron ...
