Conversion of Dagang Vacuum Residue into Oxygen-Containing Organic Compounds by Photo-Oxidation with H2O2 over TiO2

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2011
The photocatalytic depolymerization of Dagang vacuum residue (DVR) was carried out with H2O2 over TiO2 in a photochemical reactor. Most of the organic matter

Oxygen: problems and solutions in electrochemistry

open access: yes, 2013
Different aspects of the electrochemistry of oxygen are examined through four experimental examples: corrosion, passivation via organic thin films, oxygen reduction and water oxidation catalysis are outlined in order to outline the very different ...

The Effect of Organic Compounds on Iron Concentration in the Process of Removing Iron from Sulfur-Containing Sodium Aluminate Solution via Oxidation

open access: yesMetals
In this study, we investigate the effects of adding varying proportions of fulvic acid during the digestion of pyrite on the iron concentration in both dissolved and diluted sodium aluminate solutions.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

New routes to novel oeganofluorine compounds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Use of the carbon hydrogen bond as a functional group in free radical addition reactions to fluorinated olefins has been studied. Using cyclic ethers a detailed investigation of the products obtained revealed that not only carbon hydrogen bonds a to ...

Optimization of temperature and coagulators concentration to reduce biological oxygen demands in whey using fraction of full factorial statistical method [PDF]

open access: yesPizhūhish va Nuāvarī dar ̒Ulūm va Sanāyi̒-i Ghaz̠āyī, 2015
Whey is one of the major dairy wastes which is rich in organic compounds. These compounds reduce oxygen dissolved in water, inactivating the active water ecosystem and cause the loss of aquatics.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Deciphering organic substrate impacts in Anammox systems: A machine learning driven framework for predictive classification and process mechanism analysis

open access: yesEnvironment International
The response mechanisms of anaerobic ammonium oxidation (Anammox) systems to organic compounds have been extensively characterized, yet the synergistic impacts of organic classification and concentration gradients remain debated due to inconsistencies in
