Recent Advances in the α‐Hydrazination (α‐Amination) of Carbonyl Compounds
In recent years, notable progress has been achieved in the α‐hydrazination (α‐amination) of carbonyl compounds, especially in the direct asymmetric electrophilic α‐hydrazination with dialkyl azodicarboxylates. This review summarizes all the methods that appeared over the past decade, categorized based on the type of the reactive chiral intermediate ...

Coexistence of the Perfluorinated Cp* Anion With Oxidizing and Electrophilic Cations
The perfluorinated Cp* [C5(CF3)5]− is known for its unique ligand/counteranion switchability and is now introduced as a weakly coordinating anion (WCA). Its extraordinarily low nucleophilicity, combined with its pronounced oxidative stability, allows for the coexistence with reactive cations and the formation of unprecedented salts.

High regioselection in the synthesis of brominated and amino‐substituted 1,3‐diazaazulenes enables regiocontrolled access to a series of differently substituted 4‐, 6‐, and 8‐amino‐1,3‐diazaazulenes with soft‐tunable optical properties. The tetra‐aminosubstituted diazaazulenes are not entirely planar, as observed by crystallographic and computational ...

This paper describes a mild, enantioselective method for the arylation and alkenylation of 2‐aminobiaryl compounds to produce highly valuable, enantioenriched anilines exhibiting axial chirality. The kinetic resolution process is catalyzed by Pd(II) in combination with an isobutyryl‐protected isoleucine ligand (iBoc‐Ile‐OH), using atmospheric air as ...

Mechanistic insights into organocatalysis
With a resurgence of interest at the turn of the millennium, organocatalysis has become an established field in chemical research. Proline, in particular, has played a central role in the profusion of research. As the archetypal organocatalyst, proline mediated transformations have acted as a point of reference against which the performance of new ...

Halogen Bond‐Driven Ligand Displacement: Co‐Crystal Lattice Versus Coordination Bonds
Strong halogen bond donor (1,4‐diiodotetrafluorobenzene) can induce the amine ligand displacement in Jahn–Teller affected Cu(acac)2(amine) and in trans influenced VO(acac)2(amine) complexes, resulting the formation of respective co‐crystals: M(acac)2·1,4‐DITFB and (amine)·1,4‐DITFB.

Abstract Flavin co‐factors and other flavin derivatives are traditionally associated with one‐ or two‐electron redox reactions. Flavins also form covalent intermediates with a variety of substrates. While extensive attention has focused on reactions at the C(4a) position of the flavin ring, recent interest has shifted toward the dynamic potential of ...
