Stability and Mitochondrial Localization of a Highly Cytotoxic Organogold(III) Complex with Diphosphine Ancillary Ligand in Lung Cancer Cells. [PDF]
The combination of cryo‐synchrotron radiation‐X‐ray fluorescence (cryo‐SR‐XRF), cryo‐synchrotron radiation‐X‐ray absorption (cryo‐SR‐XAS) and high‐resolution mass spectrometry demonstrates the high intracellular stability of a biphenyl gold(III) diphosphine complex indicating the native organogold cation as the active species.

Molecular Design Toward High-Performance Solution-Processable Push-Pull Zinc(II) Porphyrin-Based Resistive Memory Devices: From Binary to Ternary Memory Behavior. [PDF]
A series of zinc(II) porphyrin‐based D−A complexes is employed to fabricate solution‐processable resistive memory devices. The utilization of an electron‐donating π‐bridge or a weak electron‐donating moiety is able to turn on an extra resistive state to realize ternary memory performance, demonstrating the relationship between memory behavior and ...

Synergistic Gold-Silicon Catalysis: Unravelling Alkynyl Gold Reactivity and Application to the High-Performance C-Alkynylation of Glycals. [PDF]
This research highlights an efficient and highly α‐stereoselective Au‐Si‐catalyzed alkyne transfer reaction from 1‐trimethylsilylalkynes to glycals, utilizing the bench‐stable (F5Ph)3PAuNTf2 complex at low catalyst loadings (0.2–1 mol%). DFT mechanistic investigations revealed the nucleophilic character of the in situ formed electron‐deficient ...

Platform Design Enabling Silver(III) Stabilization ─ The Uprise of AgIIICF3 Chemistry? [PDF]
Oxidation state +III represents the highest known for silver compounds. This Concept Article critically analyzes the main strategies allowing for the authentication of silver(III) compounds, with special focus on AgIIICF3 species, that were discovered back in the 80′s and 90′s, but brought back to the scene very recently. They often display an inverted

Impact of Chelation on Reactivity and Cytotoxicity of Hemilabile Biphenyl Gold(III) N-Heterocyclic Carbene Complexes. [PDF]
An array of eight pairs of biphenyl gold(III) complexes comprising NHC–pyridine ligands having a hemilabile character in vitro displays antiproliferative activity toward human cells in the low micromolar range which is exclusively due to their neutral open form according to speciation studies.

Unraveling the Molecular Basis for G-Quadruplex-Binders to ALS/FTD-Associated G4C2 Repeats of the C9orf72 Gene. [PDF]
Some neurodegenerative disorders can be driven by recurrent mutations in the C9orf72 gene. These sequences can fold into G‐quadruplex secondary structures. Here, by performing in silico investigations coupled with FRET DNA melting assays, we unraveled the molecular basis for the selectivity of a series of organic and organometallic C9orf72 G4‐binders ...

Mechanisms of irreversible aquaporin-10 inhibition by organogold compounds studied by combined biophysical methods and atomistic simulations [PDF]
AbstractThe inhibition of glycerol permeation via human aquaporin-10 (hAQP10) by organometallic gold complexes has been studied by stopped-flow fluorescence spectroscopy, and its mechanism has been described using molecular modelling and atomistic simulations.

A Shape-Complementarity Approach to Inducing Short Au(III)···Au(III) Contacts in Tetracyanoaurate(III) Salts. [PDF]
In a series of tetracyanoaurate(III) salts, careful consideration of cation shape — with the goal of shape‐complementary crystal packing — can allow for the assembly of [Au(CN)4]− anions to be controlled, and in some cases Au(III)···Au(III) aurophilic interactions to be rationally accessed.
