We performed longitudinal evaluation using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and dopamine transporter single‐photon emission computed tomography (DAT‐SPECT) in a case of organophosphate‐induced toxic parkinsonism. Fluid‐attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) images showed bilateral striatal hyperintensity in the acute phase, followed by reduction of ...

Organophosphorus Poisoning and Parkinsonism -A Case Report
Chlorpyrifos, a commonly used organophosphate pesticide, often leads to severe poisoning, especially in rural India. We present a case of acute chlorpyrifos poisoning in an elderly Parkinson’s patient on anticholinergic trihexyphenidyl therapy. This case

Addressing Bottlenecks to Achieve High‐Energy Sodium‐Ion Cells Using Tin Anodes
The challenges in coupling high voltage cathode with Sn‐alloying anode or in anode‐free cell, using glyme based electrolytes to realize high energy Na‐ion cells are reported. Surface protection strategy such as SnO coating on Sn or trapping the parasitic species from poisoning the anode, helps improving the cyclability, with ∼100% capacity retention ...

The effects of the disposal of organophosphate and synthetic pyrethroid sheep dips on non-target organisms on farmland [PDF]
The 1998 Groundwater Regulations required spent organophosphate and synthetic pyrethroid sheep dip to be disposed to farmland. The effects of dip disposal on soil invertebrates and the possible consequences for their bird predators were investigated on ...

Crystal Facets Reactivity in Metal–Organic Frameworks
In this mini review, it is highlighted how the crystal facets reactivity of metal–organic frameworks can be dictated by bond strength, surface functionality, particle size, defect density, or crystal morphology. Precise control of these parameters enables deliberate exposure of crystal facets, leading to enhanced crystal surface accessibility and ...

Organophosphate poisoning in marmosets
Due to faulty use of a chlorpyriphos-diazinon combination as a pesticide within a laboratory animal house, 19 marmosets of 2 species ( Saguinus fuscicollis and Callithrix jacchus) of 98 at risk died from organophosphorous poisoning (19% mortality). The clinical signs were those of cholinesterase inhibitors.

This retrospective study evaluated 422 dogs with neurological disorders among 9131 canine referrals over 8.5 years in northeastern Iran. Infectious diseases, particularly canine distemper (33.2%), were the leading cause, followed by trauma and idiopathic conditions. The prosencephalon was the most frequently affected anatomical region.
