Descriptors for the Prediction of Partition Coefficients and Solubilities of Organophosphorus Compounds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
From literature data on partition coefficients and in some cases solubilities in nonaqueous solvents we have been able to determine Abraham descriptors for several series of organophosphorus compounds including the dialkyl- and diaryl-phosphates ...

Functionalization, Fragmentation, and Expansion of cyclo‐P4R2 Ligands

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Three isolobal transition metal (TM) units are demonstrated to impact the transformation of coordinated P4 ligands in different ways. The observed reactivity primarily depends on the nature of the TM, an effect so far underexplored in phosphorus chemistry. This in‐depth analysis shines light on the underlying mechanistic principles and exploits them to

Mg Plating in Nonethereal Electrolyte Solutions: Fact or Misconception?

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
An overview of Mg electrochemistry in both ethereal and nonethereal electrolyte systems was provided. Comprehensive reviewing on the electrochemical Mg plating/stripping activity reaffirms that only a limited range of solvents support reversible Mg plating/stripping.

A structural, spectroscopic and theoretical study of the triphenylphosphine chalcogenide complexes of tungsten carbonyl, [W(XPPh3)(CO)5], X=O, S, Se [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The series [W(XPPh3)(CO)5], X=O, S, Se has been structurally determined by X-ray crystallography and fully characterised spectroscopically to provide data for comparing the bonding of the Ph3PX ligands to the metal.

Nitrobenzene poisoning presenting as Methemoglobinemia

open access: yesMuller Journal of Medical Sciences and Research, 2014
Consumption of toxic compounds in an attempt to commit suicide is very common. Organophosphorus compounds are the most commonly consumed and fatal poisons. Nitrobenzene consumption for suicidal purposes is very rare.

Surface‐Active Imidazolium Diorganophosphates as Catalysts for Epoxidations in Water

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Imidazolium diorganophosphates are surface‐active ionic liquids, which are catalytically active in epoxidation reactions in two‐phase media using hydrogen peroxide as oxidant. The catalytic activity is ascribed to the formation of phosphorous peroxo species upon reaction of the diorganophosphate anion with H2O2.
