Subtyping of orosomucoid 1 (ORM1) by isoelectric focusing in agarose and polyacrylamide gels

ELECTROPHORESIS, 1988
AbstractGenetic polymorphism of orosomucoid (ORM) has been demonstrated in several populations and comprises two structural gene loci, ORM 1 and ORM2. In Caucasians three common ORM 1 alleles have been shown, while the ORM 2 locus is almost monomorphic.

Immunological similarity of CEA with α1-acid glycoprotein (orosomucoid)

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1982
We have demonstrated that 125 I-CEA (carcinoembryonic antigen) from two commercial sources (Roche and CIS RIA kit) can be precipitated by antibody to alpha 1-acid glycoprotein (AG) dose-dependently. The binding of 125 I-CEA to anti-AG can be displaced by unlabelled AG, though, there was no cross-reaction between AG and anti-CEA.

Orosomucoid and α1-antitrypsin in Maternal and Fetal Sera at Parturition

Scandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation, 1968
The normal ranges of variation of the acute phase reactants α1-antitrypsin, orosomucoid, haptoglobins and ceruloplasmin in maternal and fetal sera at delivery are given. The results suggest that rate of synthesis of α1-antitrypsin and orosomucoid calculated accord ing to bodyweight, is at least twice as high in the mother as in the fetus.

[Preclinical investigation of alpha 1-acid glycoprotein (orosomucoid)].

Wiener klinische Wochenschrift, 1999
The molecular properties of alpha 1-acid glycoprotein are briefly discussed. This molecule has been shown in in vitro experiments to have both a stabilizing effect on vascular permeability and antiinflammatory properties. We were able to demonstrate these two effects in vivo in guinea pigs (skin, Evan's Blue extravasation) and in rats (paw, carrageenan

Use of transgenic mice for the characterization of human alpha 1-acid glycoprotein (orosomucoid) variants

Human Genetics, 1989
Sera from transgenic mice (TM) carrying human genes of alpha 1-acid glycoprotein (orosomucoid or ORM) have been analyzed by isoelectrofocusing and subsequent immunoblotting with antihuman ORM antibodies. With this technique it is possible to reveal selectively the human protein secreted in the TM sera.

Alpha 1‐antitrypsin and orosomucoid phenotyping using allo A lectin‐peroxidase for detection

ELECTROPHORESIS, 1987
AbstractA new method of identifying allo A lectin‐binding glycoproteins separated by isoelectric focusing is described. The method is based on the combination of neuraminidase treatment, isoelectric focusing and Durapore filter blotting followed by detection with allo A lectin.

Electrophoretic and immunoelectrophoretic study of the enzymatic degradation of human orosomucoid (α1 ‐acid glycoprotein)

International Journal of Peptide and Protein Research, 1983
Purified, intact orosomucoid (α1‐acid glycoprotein) derived from whole human plasma was incubated with a number of proteolytic and saccharolytic enzymes under a variety of conditions. The unfractionated digests were immediately examined by both agar gel‐ and immunoelectrophoresis for the presence of antigenically active (precipitating) and/or inactive ...
