Consequences and Mechanisms of Noise‐Induced Cochlear Synaptopathy and Hidden Hearing Loss, With Focuses on Signal Perception in Noise and Temporal Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 29, August 7, 2025.
Noise‐induced synaptopathy (NIS) is largely reversible due to self‐repair. NIS and noise‐induced hidden hearing loss are two concepts with similarities and differences. The major hearing deficits in NIHHL are temporal processing disorders. The translation of animal data in NIS studies to humans is hindered by many factors.

Mesenchymal Stromal Cell Secretome and Its Key Bioactive Metabolites Induce Long‐Term Neuroprotection After Traumatic Brain Injury in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 29, August 7, 2025.
Pischiutta F and coworkers identify prostaglandins and kynurenine as key mediators of the mesenchymal stromal cells‐derived secretome's neuroprotective effects. A synthetic cocktail composed of these factors promotes long‐term functional recovery, reduces brain structural damage, and modulates neuroinflammation after traumatic brain injury, supporting ...

Effects of Secukinumab on Enthesiophyte and Erosion Progression in Psoriatic Arthritis: A One‐Year Double‐Blind, Randomized, Placebo‐Controlled Trial Using High‐Resolution Peripheral Quantitative Computed Tomography

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 77, Issue 8, Page 1015-1025, August 2025.
Objective This study aimed to ascertain the effect of secukinumab on erosion and enthesiophyte progression in psoriatic arthritis (PsA) by using high‐resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography (HR‐pQCT). Methods This was a phase 4, double‐blind, randomized, placebo‐controlled trial.

Generation of Regulatory T Cells From Human Memory CD4+T Cells by Upregulation of Naked Cuticle Homolog 2

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 55, Issue 8, August 2025.
This study discovered the small molecule 9‐methoxy‐6‐methylindolo[3,2‐b] quinoxaline (IFA005) as a potent immunomodulator capable of converting human memory CD4⁺ T cells into functional Foxp3⁺ regulatory T cells. IFA005 suppresses Th2 cytokines (IL‐4, IL‐5, and IL‐13) and promotes the iTreg phenotype by inhibiting Wnt/β‐catenin signaling through NKD2 ...

Effect of Aspirin Challenge on Innate Lymphoid Cells in Asthma Patients With Aspirin Hypersensitivity

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 55, Issue 8, August 2025.
In N‐ERD patients, oral aspirin‐induced bronchospasm is associated with increased blood group 1 innate lymphoid cells (ILC1s), decreased sputum eicosanoids, and increased urinary leukotriene E4 (LTE4), suggesting a potential role of blood ILC1s in aspirin‐induced bronchoconstriction. ABSTRACT Previous studies confirmed increased group 2 innate lymphoid
