Lipid nanoparticles containing oryzalin for the treatment of leishmaniasis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2012
Oryzalin is a dinitroaniline drug that has attracted recent interest for the treatment of leishmaniasis. Its use as an antiparasitic therapeutic agent is limited by the low water solubility associated with an in vivo rapid clearance, leading to the administration of larger and possibly toxic doses in in vivo studies, and the use of solvents that may ...

Pharmacokinetic studies of the herbicide and antitumor compound oryzalin in mice

Journal of Chromatography B, Biomedical Sciences and Applications, 1997
Oryzalin [3,5-dinitro-N,N-di(n-propyl)benzensulfanilamide] is a widely used sulfonamide herbicide that selectively inhibits microtubule formation in algae and higher plants. Oryzalin has also been found to be an inhibitor of intracellular free Ca2+ signaling in mammalian cells and to have antitumor activity in animals.

In rice, Oryzalin and abscisic acid differentially affect tubulin mRNA and protein levels

open access: yesPlanta, 1998
The effect of the anti-microtubular drug Oryzalin (3,5-dinitro-N4,N4-dipropylsulfanilamide) on growth and elongation of rice (Oryza sativa L. cv. Arborio) roots and coleoptiles was investigated.

Chromosome doubling in a Rosa rugosa Thunb. hybrid by exposure of in vitro nodes to oryzalin: the effects of node length, oryzalin concentration and exposure time

Plant Cell Reports, 2007
Chromosome doubling was induced in vitro in a diploid hybrid of Rosa rugosa Thunb. using oryzalin as the spindle inhibitor. Nodal sections, 2 mm long, were exposed to 2.5 or 5 microM oryzalin and 10 mm nodal sections were exposed to 5 microM oryzalin for 0 (controls), 6, 12, 24 and 48 h.

Soil Persistence of Isopropalin and Oryzalin

Weed Science, 1976
The aerobic rate of disappearance of isopropalin (2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropyl-cumidine) was slower than that of oryzalin (3,5-dinitro-N4,N4-dipropylsulfanilamide) in soil. The aerobic half-lives for isopropalin were 3.5 months and 13.3 months and for oryzalin 1.40 months and 4.35 months at 30 and 15 C respectively.
