Suppression of chaotic oscillations in klystron active oscillator

2008 IEEE International Vacuum Electronics Conference, 2008
This work presents results of an experimental investigation of the effect of suppressing chaotic oscillations in a five-resonance klystron active oscillator with delayed feedback by external harmonic signal and applying of this effect to generating a periodic sequence of chaotic radio pulses.

Phase noise suppression in LC oscillators: Tutorial

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2021
AbstractThis paper presents a comprehensive study of phase noise (PN) suppression in LC‐tank oscillators. The goal of this study is to provide designers with the latest techniques for reducing PN in cross‐coupled oscillators. To this end, we begin with a discussion of two prevalent PN models in oscillators: Hajimiri and Demir.

Ill-matched timescales in coupled systems can induce oscillation suppression.

Chaos, 2021
We explore the behavior of two coupled oscillators, considering combinations of similar and dissimilar oscillators, with their intrinsic dynamics ranging from periodic to chaotic.

Suppression of Unstable Oscillations in a Boundary Layer

Fluid Dynamics, 1987
A theoretical study is made of the excitation of Tollmien — Schlichting waves by a mechanical vibrator or thermal source that heats a small part of a surface in subsonic stream. According to results of most practical concern, it is possible to reduce essentially the amplitude of forced oscillations and even to attain their full attenuation by changing ...

AN ADAPTIVE WIDEBAND OSCILLATION SUPPRESSION METHOD FOR WIND FARM INTEGRATION THROUGH MMC-HVDC SYSTEM

The 10th Renewable Power Generation Conference (RPG 2021), 2021
With the rapid development of modular multilevel converter-based high-voltage DC (MMC-HVDC) transmission system for wind farm integration, the wideband oscillation issues have become increasingly serious.

A novel approach to suppression of oscillations

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 2017
AbstractWe propose a novel method of determining the control force that brings a mechanical system with finite degrees of freedom from one phase state into another one in a given time. When a system is brought from an available phase state into a prescribed state of rest we can speak about the oscillation suppression. Horizontal motion of a cart with s

A Design and Analysis of RCD Oscillation Suppression Circuit for Marx Pulse Generator

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science
Marx circuit is widely used in pulse-generating devices. However, in practical applications, the discharge loop of the Marx often includes stray capacitance and inductance, which can cause oscillations at the leading edge of the pulse.

Virtual Shaft Control of Virtual Synchronous Generator With Nonlinear Stiffness for Power Oscillation Suppression

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery
Efficient power oscillation suppression in broad bandwidth and reduction of self-induced resonance risk are critical for the wide application of the virtual synchronous generator (VSG) in power systems with a high penetration of wind power generation. In

Robust Voltage Regulation in Dynamic Wireless EV Charging Systems via Dual-Frequency Oscillation Suppression

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print)
This article designs an enhanced voltage regulator for dynamic wireless charging system (DWCS) in electric vehicles (EVs) with dual-frequency oscillation suppression. The DWCS aims to alleviate EVs’ range anxiety issue by ensuring continuous power supply.

Active Suppression of Torsional Oscillations

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2004
Abstract A problem with electrically driven vehicles is resonances in the drive train caused by elasticity and gear play. Disadvantageous effects caused by this are noticeable vibrations and high mechanical stresses due to torque oscillations. The oscillations can be damped using a control structure consisting of a nonlinear observer to estimate the ...
