Oscillator design for suppressing spurious signals
IEEE Microwave Magazine, 2007This article has shed some light upon typical problems of the oscillator design. A number of additional signals can be excited by the oscillator's active kernel due to parasitic effects. These interfere with the projected oscillation frequency or with its harmonics and produce a number of disturbing spurious signals.

Suppression of oscillations in mean-field diffusion
Pramana, 2015We study the role of mean-field diffusive coupling on suppression of oscillations for systems of limit cycle oscillators. We show that this coupling scheme not only induces amplitude death (AD) but also oscillation death (OD) in coupled identical systems.

Chatter Suppression via an Oscillating Cutter
Manufacturing Science and Engineering: Volume 2, 1997Abstract Chatter is one of the critical issues in a machining process since it deteriorates the surface quality of a workpiece and reduces machining efficiency. A new method is developed to suppress chatter in which an oscillating cutter is used to machine the workpiece through a stepping motor and a transmission mechanism so as to vary ...

Analysis of Oscillation Suppression Methods in the AC-AC Stage of High Frequency Link Converters
International Scientific Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering of Riga Technical University, 2019This paper addresses various oscillation suppression methods in the AC-AC cycloconverter stage of a high frequency link inverter. Such oscillations occur after the natural commutation of the switches due to parasitic parameters of the converter circuit ...

Spurious-mode suppression in optoelectronic oscillators
2010 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium, 2010Optoelectronic oscillators (OEOs) are promising low phase noise radio frequency sources. However, the long fiber loops required for a high Oscillator Q also lead to spurious modes (spurs) spaced too narrowly to be filtered by standard electronic devices.

Soot suppression by acoustic oscillated combustion
Fuel, 1998The soot suppression of acetylene diffusion flames by applying acoustic oscillation was studied experimentally. The soot emission decreased by increasing the sound pressure level and lowering the frequency of the acoustic oscillation. The efficiency of soot suppression can be related with acoustic Reynolds number, Re∗.

Proactive vehicle oscillation suppression
2018This chapter illustrates how the undesired effects of the harvesting machine dynamics can be cancelled out with proactive vehicle oscillaiton suppression. The reader is first introduced to the basic idea of the proactive vehicle oscillation suppression with a strong focus on command shaping techniques.

Forced oscillations and suppression of oscillations in nonlinear sampled-data systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1966In this paper, a procedure is developed to investigate and predict the properties of certain types of forced oscillations in a class of nonlinear sampled-data control systems. Use is made of the discrete describing function, and the results are checked on the IBM 7094 digital computer.
