Osmium carbodithioato derivatives. Syntesis and spectroscopic studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
Several new dithiocarbamate complexes of osmium(III) and osmium(II) have been synthetized and characterized by i. r. and electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibilities and conductivity measurements. The dithio ligands show a bidentate behaviour in all the

Osmium as an Immunostain Enhancement [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Since we do our paraffin-section DAB immunostaining in an EM lab, we often use osmium to darken the reaction product. We simply put a drop of our standard 1% cacodylate-buffered osmium tetroxide on each section in a hood and rinse it off in running tap ...

Herba Lysimachiae Polysaccharide‐Modified Selenium Nanoparticles Alleviate Oxidative Injury in Kidney Stones via TOMM22‐Regulated Mitophagy Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
HLP‐SeNPs, a Lysimachia christinae polysaccharide‐modified selenium nanoparticle, treat kidney stones by downregulating TOMM22 expression, which reduces PINK1 translocation into mitochondria and promotes its retention on the outer mitochondrial membrane.

Pyridyl-Thiourea Ruthenium and Osmium Complexes: Coordination of Ligand and Application as FLP Hydrogenation Catalysts

open access: yesMolecules
Pyridyl-thiourea complexes of formula [(Cym)MCl(κ2Npy,S-H2NNS)][SbF6] (Cym = η6-p-MeC6H4iPr; H2NNS = N-(p-tolyl)-N′-(2-pyridylmethyl)thiourea); M = Ru (1), Os (2)) were synthesized by reacting the corresponding metal dimers [{(Cym)MCl}2(μ-Cl)2] with ...

Mitochondrial Carrier SLC25A13 Drives Ferroptosis Resistance and Immune Evasion via a STAT3–IFI6 Circuit in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SLC25A13 is identified as an immunometabolic driver of triple‐negative breast cancer that sustains ferroptosis resistance and immune evasion through a STAT3–IFI6 circuit. Pharmacologic degradation of SLC25A13 restores ferroptosis sensitivity and enhances anti‐PD‐1 efficacy, highlighting a strategy to convert immune‐cold tumors into immunotherapy ...

Reported Radioactivity of Osmium [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1948
FOR some time it has been known that two isobars which differ by unity in atomic number cannot both be stable, except for a possible influence of the neutrino if its mass has a positive value at rest. A search for radioactivity among the existing pairs of isobars led to the announcement1 of K-electron capture in osmium (Os187) with a half-life of about

Oxygen Vacancy‐Enriched Platinum Single‐Atom Nanozyme Wrapped in Nanoislands: Unlocking Catalytic Activity and Reprogramming Redox Microenvironment for Osteonecrosis Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CeO2‐x/Pt single‐atom nano‐island is constructed via low‐temperature reduction, featuring abundant oxygen vacancies and an island–sea structure. It delivers outstanding multi‐enzyme‐mimetic activity and ROS‐scavenging efficiency. Density functional theory reveals optimized electronic structures and reaction pathways.

Engineered Exosomal miR‐146a‐5p Reprograms BMSC Fate and Restores Mitochondrial Homeostasis in Glucocorticoid‐Induced Osteonecrosis of Femoral Head

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exosomal miR‐146a‐5p is identified as a pivotal regulator in steroid‐induced osteonecrosis. Its reduction activates NF‐κB signaling, compromises mitophagy, and disrupts mitochondrial bioenergetics, resulting in autophagic disequilibrium. Engineered exosomes delivering miR‐146a‐5p reinstate mitochondrial function, augment oxidative phosphorylation and ...

Ruthenium(II) and Osmium(II) Probes Based on the BODIPY Fluorophore for the Detection of Carbon Monoxide and Viscosity in Biological Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research
Carbon monoxide (CO) detection in biological environments requires robust, well‐defined probes that react rapidly and selectively with CO to deliver a fluorescence response.
