Hierarchically Engineered Multi‐Enzyme Nanoreactors for in vitro Drug Biosynthesis and Pathway Transplantation Into Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchically structured metal–organic framework (eMIL) is shown to host the complete six‐enzyme biosynthesis pathway for the anti‐cancer pigment violacein, reshaping reaction dynamics and multiplying in vitro yields. eMIL nanoreactors deliver this reconstituted bacterial multi‐protein system into mammalian cells, where cell‐derived substrates and ...

Effects of nanomaterials on Cs3Sb photocathode emission performance

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
A new approach to preparing the cesium antimonide photocathode has been developed. A tungsten sponge diffusion barrier layer, instead of the conventional nickel pipe, was used as the evaporation source so that a slow and uniform evaporation of the ...

Synthesis and controlled growth of osmium nanoparticles by electron irradiation.

open access: yesDalton Transactions, 2015
We have synthesised osmium nanoparticles of defined size (1.5-50 nm) on a B- and S-doped turbostratic graphitic structure by electron-beam irradiation of an organometallic osmium complex encapsulated in self-spreading polymer micelles, and characterised ...

Liver Stiffness Directs Intrahepatic Cholesterol Accumulation Through YAP/TAZ in Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Liver stiffness promotes intrahepatic cholesterol accumulation by repressing LXRα through YAP/TAZ activation. Stiff matrices impair cholesterol efflux in hepatocytes, while YAP/TAZ deletion restores LXRα activity and prevents cholesterol‐induced fibrosis.

Magnetic structure determination of Ca$_3$LiOsO$_6$ using neutron and x-ray scattering

open access: yes, 2012
We present a neutron and x-ray scattering investigation of Ca$_3$LiOsO$_6$, a material predicted to host magnetic ordering solely through an extended superexchange pathway involving two anions, an interaction mechanism that has undergone relatively ...

Chronic Hypoxia Disrupts Spermatogenesis Through ASXL2–EZH2–Mediated Microtubule Destabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals the mechanism by which chronic hypoxia impairs spermatogenesis via the ASXL2–EZH2 axis, hindering the transition of spermatids from round to elongated forms. Key findings reveal that under hypoxic conditions, downregulated ASXL2 expression reduces EZH2 binding to the CEP162 promoter, leading to decreased H3K27me3 modification and ...

Metal-Oxo Photo-oxidants, Photochemistry and Photophysics of trans-[Os^(VI)(tmc)(O)_2]^(2+)(tmc = 1,4,8,11-tetramethyl-1,4,8,11-tetra-azacyclotetradecane) and trans-[Os^(VI)(CN)_4(O)_2]^(2-) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
trans-[Os^(VI)(tmc)(O)_2]^(2+)(tmc = 1,4,8,11-tetramethyl-1,4,8,11-tetra-azacyclotetradecane) and trans-[Os^(VI)(CN)_4(O)_2]^(2-) are emissive in the solid state and in fluid solutions at room temperature (τ~ 1.0–1.5 µs); the (^3)E_g state of trans-[Os ...

Thioxoethenylidene (CCS) as a bridging ligand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The reaction of [Mo(≡CBr)(CO)2(Tp*)] (Tp* = hydrotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)borate) with [Fe2(μ-SLi)2(CO)6] affords, inter alia, the unsymmetrical binuclear thioxoethenylidene complex [Mo2(μ,σ(C):η2(C′S)-CCS)(CO)4(Tp*)2], which may be more directly ...

ELABELA Targets Mitochondria to Modulate Heart Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The role of peptide ELABELA (ELA) in cardiomyocyte apoptosis and congenital heart disease (CHD) is unclear. ELA deficiency caused cardiomyocyte apoptosis and CHD. A novel ELA‐APJ‐AKT‐BCL2/BAX axis in regulating mitochondrial function and contributing to CHD pathogenesis was established.
