Modelling of Thin-Layer Drying of Osmo-Pretreated Red Bell Pepper
The paper observes a thin-layer drying behaviour of red bell pepper. The red bell pepper (192 samples) was pretreated in osmotic solution of salt of concentrations 5–20% (w/w) at osmotic solution temperatures (30–60 °C) and osmotic process durations (30 ...

ERK‐Mediated Phosphorylation of YAP Defines a Noncanonical FGF Signaling Mechanism in Stem Cells
With a powerful combination of in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro models, the authors highlight a novel FGF‐ERK signaling regulation of YAP at the S128 site in neural crest‐derived stem cells. This study opens exciting new directions in stem cell biology and craniofacial biology, paving the way for potential innovations in the treatment of craniofacial ...

Comparison of the kinetics of osmotic drying apples in sugar beet molasses and sucrose solutions [PDF]
Osmotic dehydration of apple was carried out using sugar beet molasses and sucrose solutions in different concentrations (40.0%, 60.0% and 80.0% for sugar beet molasses; 30%, 50% and 70% for sucrose solutions), at constant temperature of 45°C, under ...

A Soft, Flexible Implant for Wireless Photothermal–Pyroelectric Neurostimulation
A replication strategy is used to enlarge the exposed surface area of barium titanate within flexible films with embedded carbon nanotubes, enabling efficient photothermal‐pyroelectric stimulation. Polar crystalline nanosheets show superior performance in guiding neural progenitor cells toward neuronal differentiation.

This diagram illustrates that night shift work disrupts circadian clock genes (like CLOCK, BMAL1) in both humans and mice. This disruption leads to mitochondrial dysfunction (imbalanced fusion/fission proteins) and increased oxidative stress, which is identified as the primary mechanism ultimately causing elevated blood pressure.

Experimental study of the strengthening efficiency of engineering waste sludge using electro-osmosis
The intensification of urbanization has resulted in a significant increase in the generation of engineering waste sludge. Traditional treatment methods on engineering waste sludge often fail to achieve desired dewatering targets.

Filtration coefficients and physical properties of fluids for osmotic action
In the present study, the filtration coefficient of an acetyl cellulose tubular-type osmotic membrane is measured with two methods using reverse osmosis and osmosis processes. In addition, the effects of temperature and concentration on the physical properties of fluids needed for studies on osmosis are examined using sodium chloride, potassium ...
