Primary Hyperparathyroidism With Brown Tumor—A Case Mistaken as Non‐Ossifying Fibroma Resolved by Biochemical and Radiological Correlation

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is uncommon in the pediatric population and rarely presents with overt skeletal complications such as brown tumors. This case study describes a 16‐year‐old female who initially presented with abdominal pain and was subsequently found to have severe hypercalcemia (serum calcium 16.4 mg/dL) and markedly ...

Presenilin L166P Mutation, a Model of Familial Alzheimer's Disease, Leads to Early Onset Bone Loss

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 1, February 2026.
Female‐specific bone loss in Alzheimer's disease mouse models: There is a significant alteration of bone phenotype during Alzheimer's disease. Using integrated imaging and biological assays, we observed changes in the bone microarchitecture, composition, and function in PSEN K1 and PSEN1/hAPP Tg+ mice, predominantly in the females. ABSTRACT Accelerated

Vildagliptin and Omarigliptin Differentially Bind to DPP‐4 Homodimers and Modulate Osteoclast‐Mediated Bone Resorption

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 1, February 2026.
Vildagliptin and omarigliptin, dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 (DPP‐4) inhibitors, have differential effects on bone cells. Although vildagliptin improved the bone microstructure of high‐fat diet‐fed rats, it was unable to downregulate osteoclastogenesis or the expression of key osteoclast transcripts.

Separation Methods Affect Glycan Patterns in Extracellular Vesicle Preparations From Canine Osteoblasts and Osteosarcoma Cells

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanosized, membrane‐enclosed particles released by cells, facilitating intercellular communication via the transfer of bioactive molecules from producing to recipient cells. EVs are involved in several physiological and pathological processes, including cancer progression.

Antibacterial and Bioactive 3D‐Printed Hexagonal Boron Nitride Incorporated Gelatin/Methyl Cellulose Scaffolds for Bone Tissue Engineering Applications

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 2, February 2026.
3D printed gelatin/methylcellulose scaffolds reinforced with hexagonal boron nitride nanoplatelets exhibit tunable rheology, excellent printability, and enhanced multifunctionality. The incorporation of h‐BN promotes shear‐thinning behavior, structural stability, apatite nucleation, osteogenic mineralization, and selective antibacterial activity ...
