A Ruthenium‐(Ph‐BPE) Catalyst for Asymmetric Alkynylation of Fluoral: Enantioselection From 1 of 12 Fluxional Stereogenic‐at‐Ruthenium Complexes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
The first enantioselective alkynylations of aqueous fluoral are described. These processes are catalyzed by an iodide‐bound ruthenium‐(Ph‐BPE)‐catalyst; an octahedral metal complex that can exist as 12 diastereomeric‐at‐metal isomers. Calculations reveal that 2 of 12 stereoisomeric complexes account for 99.9% of the Boltzmann population and that ...

Steric modulation of nitric oxide photodissociation kinetics in iron–nitrosyl complexes

open access: yesBulletin of the Korean Chemical Society, EarlyView.
Subtle steric modification within a pyridinophane ligand framework modulates nitric oxide photodissociation kinetics in iron–nitrosyl complexes. Structural and electrochemical analyses reveal that modest ligand‐environment variations are reflected in differences in NO photoreactivity.

Machine Learning Paradigm for Advanced Battery Electrolyte Development

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Electrolyte materials determine ion transport kinetics within the bulk and interphases, ultimately influencing the performance of battery systems. As data‐driven paradigms increasingly reshape materials discovery, this review provides an application‐oriented exploration of the intersection between machine learning and electrolyte science. By evaluating

Shedding Light on Synthetic Autocatalysis: From Conventional Closed‐Shell Chemistries to Overlooked Open‐Shell Occurrences

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Why add another catalyst when the product itself holds the power to catalyze its own formation? Autocatalysis in synthetic chemistry enhances reaction efficiency and uncovers novel catalytic behavior across both closed‐shell and open‐shell systems, expanding reactivity and enabling innovative design strategies.

Decoupling Redox Potentials and Excited State Energies in Substituted Chromium(III) Chromophores

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Redox and excited state properties of organic and precious metal CT photocatalysts are strongly entangled. In contrast, redox potentials of polypyridine chromium(III) complexes, that feature purely metal‐centered SF states, are selectively tuned by incremental substituent effects of the CF3 group, while excited state energies and lifetimes remain ...

Outage analysis of OTFS system over time-varying and block time-varying Rician fading channels

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS) modulation is a potential radio interface technique for integrated terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks due to its resilience against severe Doppler spread and high carrier frequency offsets.

Monosubstituted N‐Arylhydroxylamine Chemistry: Integrating Contemporary Synthetic Approaches for the Efficient Construction of Diverse Heterocyclic Scaffolds

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Monosubstituted N‐arylhydroxylamines represent a unique subclass of hydroxylamines that act as pivotal intermediates in redox transformations and as versatile platforms for further synthetic transformations. They serve as key building blocks in the synthesis of architecturally complex heterocycles and other valuable organic compounds.

State‐of‐the‐Art and Synthetic Challenges for Hydrosilane Production

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The synthesis of hydrosilanes is currently energy intensive and their recycling is not considered. However, these compounds are important in many industrial fields but also for the valorization of oxygenated waste, towards a circular economy. This review compares the available synthetic routes and highlights the remaining challenges for the production ...

Cationic Sulfonium‐Based Tripodal Ligand and Its Rh(I) Complexes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
We report a cationic EP3‐type tripodal ligand based on an aromatic sulfonium cation (E = S+) along with a series of its Rh(I) complexes. Structural, spectroscopic, electrochemical, and computational analyses of these complexes compared to isostructural analogs (E = Si− or P) reveal pronounced electron density depletion at Rh in the sulfonium congener ...

Dinuclear Copper(I) Complexes Featuring Metal–Metal Interactions and a μ2‐Bridging Phosphane With Additional Olefinic Binding Sites

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A Cu2P triangle captured in a tetrapodal phosphane tris(olefin) ligand, where all binding forces are weak apart from the Cu─P interaction. ABSTRACT The molecule Ptrop3 contains in each trop unit (trop = dibenzo[a,d]cyclohepten‐5‐yl) a rigid central seven‐membered ring with an olefinic binding site making Ptrop3 potentially a tetradentate ligand ...
