Synthesis of Aromatic Aldehydes by CH Formylation of Aromatics with Silyl Formates Prepared from CO2 and Hydrosilanes

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
A new method has been developed for the C–H formylation of aromatic compounds using silyl formates synthesized from CO2 and hydrosilanes. This is the first report on the direct C–H formylation of aromatics with silyl formates. The formylation reactions were promoted by BBr3 or BCl3. The reaction mechanism has been clarified by DFT calculations. Despite

Redox‐Active Guanidines

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
Redox‐active guanidines, comprising guanidino‐functionalized aromatics (GFAs) and redox‐active urea azines (RAAs), are electron donors and strong Lewis and Brønsted bases that are used in several applications. They act as redox‐active ligands in bistable coordination compounds and as reagents in dehydrogenative coupling reactions and proton‐coupled ...

Electrolyte Engineering in Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries: From Solvation Chemistry to Interface Stabilization

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
This review summarizes recent progress in electrolyte engineering for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. It focuses on solvation chemistry regulation and interfacial stabilization. Strategies including solvent regulation, electrolyte salt, functional additives, and composite electrolytes are discussed. These approaches help suppress side reactions and improve

Trends in Structural and Spectroscopic Signatures of Iron(II) Complexes Supported by Systematically Varied Tetra‐N‐Heterocyclic Carbene Macrocycles

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 17, 17 June 2026.
The effects of ligand ring size and peripheral substitution on geometric and electronic structures as well as electrochemical and spectroscopic properties of a family of iron(II) complexes with macrocyclic tetracarbene ligands, often called organometallic heme analogues, have been analyzed, to provide structure/property correlations as a basis for ...

Mild N‑Arylation of Sulfoximines With (Hetero)aryl Chlorides Enabled by α‐Methylnaphthyl‐tBuBrettPhos Palladium Triflate

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 23, 16 June 2026.
A readily accessible, air‐ and moisture‐stable palladium precatalyst, [Pd(1‐MeNAP)(tBuBrettPhos)]OTf, enables the direct N‐arylation of NH‐sulfoximines with (hetero)aryl chlorides under exceptionally mild conditions ideal for late‐stage diversification of drug‐like scaffolds.

A General Strategy for the Synthesis of Jerangolids Enabled by π‐allyl Stille Coupling

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 23, 16 June 2026.
A general strategy for the synthesis of jerangolids is established, featuring a late‐stage π‐allyl Stille coupling of two advanced, highly customizable building blocks to form the skipped diene core. The approach provides access to all naturally occurring jerangolids, including jerangolid H, whose configuration is confirmed by NMR analysis.
