Systematic Evaluation of Cyanidioschyzon merolae Across Photobioreactor Systems: Linking Reactor Design to Biomass Production and Biochemical Composition

Abbreviated Summary The role of the major fungal cell wall polymer α‐1,3‐glucan in plant infection is poorly understood. Deletion mutants of the maize anthracnose fungus Colletotrichum graminicola lacking all three α‐1,3‐glucan synthase genes differentiated severely distorted biotrophic hyphae in planta, and virulence was strongly reduced.

The high structural complexity of fungal and yeast cells limits the applications of proton‐detected solid‐state NMR spectroscopy. Here, we conducted a detailed study of the dependence of MAS rates and deuteration levels on the proton line width and relaxation times in glycans from intact human‐pathogenic yeast cells.

Assessment of Attainable Distances in Proteins by Through‐Space 19F–19F Couplings

De novo synthesized difluorinated tryptophan analogues are site‐specifically incorporated into Cyclophilin A (CypA). 19F–19F NOESY build‐up experiments are recorded for each labeled protein, and the distances derived from cross‐relaxation rates are compared to reference distances.
