Rotating molecular outflows: the young T Tauri star in CB26

open access: yes, 2008
The disk-outflow connection is thought to play a key role in extracting excess angular momentum from a forming proto-star. Though jet rotation has been observed in a few objects, no rotation of molecular outflows has been unambiguously reported so far ...

A parsec-scale outflow from the luminous YSO IRAS 17527-2439 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Imaging observations of IRAS 17527-2439 are obtained in the near-IR JHK photometric bands and in a narrow-band filter centred at the wavelength of the H_2 1-0 S(1) line. The continuum-subtracted H_2 image is used to identify outflows.

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Outflow graft obstruction after left ventricular assist device implantation: a retrospective, single‐centre case series

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, 2021
Aims Outflow graft obstruction is a poorly described complication following left ventricular assist device (LVAD) surgery. We sought to define the incidence of LVAD outflow graft obstruction and assess clinical outcomes with a percutaneous treatment ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Evidence of strong quasar feedback in the early Universe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Most theoretical models invoke quasar driven outflows to quench star formation in massive galaxies, this feedback mechanism is required to account for the population of old and passive galaxies observed in the local universe.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

An Increase in the Energy Efficiency of Vortex Micro HPP with a Flexible Outlet Siphon by Self-Adjustment of Flows in the Pressure Chamber

open access: yesЖурнал інженерних наук
The article aims to increase the energy efficiency of the vortex micro-power plant, which would be achieved due to its compatibility with the terrain. In particular, the inlet channel connected to the water intake of the pressure chamber and the water ...

Cardiac Effects of a Single Dose of Pimobendan in Cats With Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy; A Randomized, Placebo-Controlled, Crossover Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2019
Background: Pimobendan has been shown to impart a significant survival benefit in cardiomyopathic cats who receive it as part of heart failure therapy. However, use of pimobendan remains controversial in cats with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) due to

The Effect of Intraocular Pressure Load Boundary on the Biomechanics of the Human Conventional Aqueous Outflow Pathway

open access: yesBioengineering, 2022
Background: Aqueous humor outflow resistance in the trabecular meshwork (TM), juxtacanalicular connective tissue (JCT), and Schlemm’s canal (SC) endothelium of the conventional outflow pathway actively contribute to intraocular pressure (IOP) regulation.
