Role of MR Spectroscopy in differentiating Benign from Malignant Ovarian Tumors
Background: Ovarian cancer stands as a greatly dangerous gynecological malignancy with elevated mortality rate. Imaging plays a pivotal role in identification and planning of treatment of accidentally detected ovarian lesions, as earlier diagnosis of ...

Association of endometrioid ovarian carcinoma arising from endometriosis, endometrioid endometrial carcinoma, and high-grade undifferentiated endometrial sarcoma. a case report [PDF]
Endometriosis is a chronic disease that affects women of reproductive age. Malignant transformation in endometriosis is considered to be an unusual event, only occurring in 0.7-0.1% of cases.

Cancer cell death induced by the NAD antimetabolite Vacor discloses the antitumor potential of SARM1
Vacor, a compound converted into the toxic metabolite Vacor adenine dinucleotide (VAD) by the nicotinamide salvage pathway enzymes NAMPT and NMNAT2, exhibits antitumor activity by inducing rapid and complete NAD depletion. We report that Vacor toxicity is limited to cell lines expressing high levels of SARM1, a NAD glycohydrolase.

Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

A comprehensive microarray-based DNA methylation study of 367 hematological neoplasms [PDF]
Background: Alterations in the DNA methylation pattern are a hallmark of leukemias and lymphomas. However, most epigenetic studies in hematologic neoplasms (HNs) have focused either on the analysis of few candidate genes or many genes and few HN entities,

We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Comprehensive analysis of genomic mutations, gene expression, DNA methylation, and pathway analysis of TCGA data was carried out to define cancer types in which proteasome subunits expression is associated with worse survival. Albeit the effect of specific proteasome subunits on cellular function, the main role of the proteasome is better evaluated ...

Value of the platelet to lymphocyte ratio in the diagnosis of ovarian neoplasms in adolescents.
BACKGROUND Relationships between poor prognosis of ovarian malignancies and changes in complete blood count parameters have been proposed previously. In this work, we aimed to evaluate clinicopathologic features in adolescents with adnexal masses and ...

Borderline ovarian neoplasms [PDF]
Borderline ovarian tumors are most commonly serous or mucinous and account for 1 to 15% of all epithelial tumors. These tumors are characterized by low malignant potential and are most often diagnosed when they reach a significant size, causing abdominal pain or distension of the abdomen.
