A Morphologically Distinct Yet Seldom Seen Entity – Ovarian Collision Tumor [PDF]

open access: yesNational Journal of Laboratory Medicine, 2015
The co-existence of two adjacent and histologically distinct tumors in the same organ without histologic admixture at the interface are generically referred to as collision tumors. Although they have been reported in various organs, ovarian collision

Cross‐Cancer Profiling of CDH1 Reveals Context‐Dependent EMT Decoupling, Immune Heterogeneity, and Prognostic Variability in Epithelial Cancers

open access: yesComputational and Systems Oncology, Volume 6, Issue 1, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Cadherin 1 (CDH1) encodes E‐cadherin, a key epithelial adhesion molecule traditionally associated with tumor suppression and epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT). However, its roles across cancers remain incompletely understood, particularly within multilayer regulatory contexts involving genomic, epigenetic, transcriptional, and immune ...

Molecular Tumor Boards in Malignant Melanoma: Uncovering Challenges and Opportunities in a Bicenter Retrospective Analysis in Germany

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 9, Page 2290-2299, 1 November 2026.
Molecular tumor boards (MTB), interdisciplinary teams that use tumor genomic data to guide personalized treatment decisions, have emerged as a promising strategy in melanoma care, although their real‐world clinical impact remains uncertain. This retrospective study evaluated advanced melanoma patients to assess molecularly guided treatment ...

Genetic Ablation and Multi‐Omics Profiling Reveal CEP55 as a Key Driver of Tumorigenesis in Diverse Cancer Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 58, 19 October 2026.
Genetic ablation of Cep55 in Pten‐deficient mouse models delays tumorigenesis. Integrated multi‐omics analyses (proteomics, phosphoproteomics, and spatial transcriptomics) reveal that CEP55 regulates oncogenic signaling (RAS/ERK, PI3K/AKT), integrin/FAK‐mediated adhesion, extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling, and endocytosis.

Assessment of concentrations of sTRAIL ligand and its receptors sTRAIL-R1 and sTRAIL-R2 – markers monitoring the course of the extrinsic pathway of apoptosis induction: potential application in ovarian cancer diagnostics

open access: yesArchives of Medical Science, 2015
Introduction : TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) together with its receptors are involved in activation of the extrinsic pathway of apoptosis. Due to the special role of the apoptosis pathway in pathogenesis of ovarian cancers, the aim of the

Incidence of Gynecological Cancers Is Rising in Northern Iran: A Population‐Based, Serial Cross‐Sectional Joinpoint Regression Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Gynecological cancers are a major global health burden, with ovarian, uterine, and cervical cancers being the most common types. Despite rising national incidence rates, recent comprehensive data for Gilan Province remain limited.

Chemotherapy is not necessary for early-stage serous and endometrioid ovarian cancer after undergoing comprehensive staging surgery

open access: yesJournal of Ovarian Research, 2020
In order to investigate whether adjuvant chemotherapy is essential for patients with early-stage serous and endometrioid epithelial ovarian cancer, the present study collected data from the US Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results database between ...

Mesothelin as Biomarker and Therapeutic Target for Immunotherapy in Cancer

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
Mesothelin overexpression activate important pathways like nuclear factor k‐light‐chain‐enhancer of activated B cells (NF‐κB) and interleukin‐6 (IL‐6). This in turn causes numerous cancers, such as pancreatic and ovarian cancers. MSLN‐targeting immunotherapies, like monoclonal antibodies, have shown efficacy.

BRAF V600E mutation associated with papillary high-grade serous ovarian cystadenocarcinoma in a 22q11.2DS patient

open access: yesGynecologic Oncology Reports
Objective: Ovarian cancers exhibit very heterogeneous genetic and genomic aberrations with various pathogenetic and prognostic values. Chromosome 22 abnormalities, including del(22q) and duplications, are genetic multisystemic disorders, most commonly ...

NTAQ1 Promotes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Growth by Facilitating the Protein Degradation of the Tumor Suppressor PRDM2

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 10, Page 2803-2818, October 2026.
Copy number variation analysis in The Cancer Genome Atlas identified NTAQ1 as a potential driver of HCC progression. NTAQ1 accelerates tumor growth by promoting the degradation of the tumor suppressor protein PRDM2, thereby impairing DNA repair and suppressing apoptosis. These findings indicate that NTAQ1 could be a valuable target for the treatment of
