This chapter highlights that ovarian cancer is the most common malignancy of the female genital tract in most western countries. The overall prognosis is poor, but depends on the extent of the disease at the time of diagnosis, histological type, tumor grade, and the thoroughness of surgical removal of the tumor tissue.

Abstract A case of dysgerminoma of the ovary in a three and one-half year old child is reported. A metastatic lesion in the neck was the presenting symptom. The primary tumor was diagnosed several months later. If this tumor is diagnosed before metastasis occurs, a radical panhysterectomy followed by roentgen therapy is the treatment of choice.
