Inverse Definite Overcurrent Relay Response at Pencawang Masuk Utama Pagoh, Johor

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Engineering and Applied Sciences
This paper focuses on modelling 132/11kV Pencawang Masuk Utama (PMU) Pagoh, Johor for assessing the Inverse Definite Minimum Time (IDMT) overcurrent relay in terms of relay response time using PSCAD software and comparing them with the calculated value.

A Review of Overcurrent Protection in Smart Grids Under Cyber‐Physical Threats With a Cyber‐Physical Evaluation Framework

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 8, Page 3948-3973, August 2026.
By manipulating current and voltage measurements, an assailant can induce unwanted relay action while attempting to avoid detection. Detecting advanced cyber intrusions in power protection environments requires specialised data analysis and anomaly detection methods.

A Novel Digital Twin Platform for Accelerating Power Systems Restoration

open access: yesEnergy Internet, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 111-141, July 2026.
Hardware Architecture Design of DT System in Laboratory. ABSTRACT With the global energy structure transforming towards the goal of net zero emissions, the penetration of an inverter‐based resource (IBR) in power systems is increasing. This transformation poses two critical challenges: the system post blackout restoration process becomes extremely ...

Defense Algorithm Based on Reinforcement Learning and Digital Twin for Distribution Protection Devices Adversarial Samples

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
Power system protection devices are vulnerable to adversarial samples. We propose a digital twin and reinforcement learning framework. It trains a virtual model within safe operational boundaries, reducing the false operation rate to below 3.5%. The model's inference delay is under 10 ms, meeting real‐time protection requirements.

Coordination of Overcurrent Relay In Distribution System

open access: yesELEKTRIKA- Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2022
The overcurrent phenomena are a dangerous condition that can be occurred in the electrical system and equipment. The condition of the overcurrent will cause the short-circuited current flows through the system and affect the other distribution line. The purpose of this study is to investigate the coordination of the overcurrent relay in different types
