Firearms as a Market‐Driven Epidemic: Potential Pathways to Reduce Preventable Firearm‐Related Harm in the United States

Policy Points For half a century, firearm‐related deaths and injuries have been endemic in the United States, with COVID‐19 contributing to a record high of 48,830 deaths in 2021, an epidemic rate increase. By 2023, national trends masked a significant 10‐fold difference in firearm‐related death rates among states.

Abstract This article engages signage as a medium through which urban stakeholders negotiate the politics of housing redevelopment and gentrification in cities. Focusing on Toronto, we examine housing‐related signage in three neighbourhoods where social mix approaches to redevelopment have ushered in gentrification: Parkdale, Regent Park, and Moss Park.

Intra‐ and Interspecific Effects on Spatio‐Temporal Behavior of Common Commensal Rodent Species

This study revealed major findings on spatio‐temporal behavior of commensal rodents on a pig farm showing the influence of interspecific dominance on movement behavior and the resulting species‐specific ecological adaptations. Additionally, rodents tend to stay in their home ranges and migration to other stable buildings is only rare.

From Data to Knowledge to Wisdom: Lessons Learned From the Vancouver Rat Project
