Overestimating patients' capacity [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Psychiatry, 2011
SummaryClinicians regularly overestimate patients' capacity to make decisions. This may jeopardise their autonomous decision-making. It may lead to poor clinical outcomes for patients and has potential adverse legal consequences for clinicians. There is a need to use the legal principles of the Mental Capacity Act more rigorously.

Overestimated Fog-Top Entrainment in WRF Simulation Leading to Unrealistic Dissipation of Sea Fog: A Case Study

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Entrainment at the top of the planetary boundary layer (PBL) is of significant importance because it controls the upward growth of the PBL height. An option called ysu_topdown_pblmix, which provides a parameterization of fog-top entrainment, has been ...

In this paper it is demonstrated that the FAO has used an estimation model (and data) that induce bias in the estimated overall prevalence of undernutrition. The bias is found
