Enhanced Strength and Corrosion Resistance of Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn Alloy by Aging Treatment
This work systematically investigates the effect of aging treatment on mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of vacuum arc‐melted Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn alloy. Owing to the increased α″ martensite, strength and corrosion resistance were significantly enhanced by aging treatment.

Production of oxidants in alveolar macrophages and blood leukocytes
Increased production of oxidants subsequent to phagocyte stimulation has been associated with tissue damage in lung inflammatory disorders. The overall oxidative burden of the lung may vary with inflammatory cell composition.

Following the Oxidants to Enceladus
Potentially habitable bodies beyond the Earth are expected at minimum to have organics, liquid water, and oxidants. Simple hydrocarbon organics, potentially from breakdown of more complex molecules, have been measured in the plume gas of Enceladus, and a

Effects of Condensed-Phase Oxidants on Secondary Organic Aerosol Formation
In this study we investigate the hypothesis that oxidants present within atmospheric particles can promote the formation of highly oxidized organic aerosol (OA) via oxidation reactions in the condensed phase. Secondary organic aerosol (SOA) was generated

Potential New Target for Dry Eye Disease—Oxidative Stress
Dry eye disease (DED) is a multifactorial condition affecting the ocular surface. It is characterized by loss of tear film homeostasis and accompanied by ocular symptoms that may potentially result in damage to the ocular surface and even vision loss ...

Cultured muscle cells display defects of mitochondrial myopathy ameliorated by anti-oxidants
The mitochondrial DNA A3243G mutation causes neuromuscular disease. To investigate the muscle-specific pathophysiology of mitochondrial disease, rhabdomyosarcoma transmitochondrial hybrid cells (cybrids) were generated that retain the capacity to ...

Oxidants increase intracellular free Zn2+ concentration in rabbit ventricular myocytes
Oxidative stress may alter cardiac function by affecting intracellular free Zn2+ concentrations ([Zn2+]i). Rabbit ventricular myocytes loaded with fura 2 were used to fluorometrically measure resting [Zn2+]i (0.23 +/- 0.03 nM) and intracellular Ca2 ...
