Oxidative Stability of Selected Edible Oils [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
The aim of the study was to examine and compare oxidative stability of refined (peanut, corn, rice bran, grapeseed, and rapeseed) oils. The oils were subject a Schaal Oven Test (temperature 63 ± 1 °C) and a Rancimat test (temperature 120 °C) and their stability was compared at the 1st and 12th month of storage.

Insights into the function of silver as an oxidation catalyst by ab initio, atomistic thermodynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
To help understand the high activity of silver as an oxidation catalyst, e.g., for the oxidation of ethylene to epoxide and the dehydrogenation of methanol to formaldehyde, the interaction and stability of oxygen species at the Ag(111) surface has been ...

Structure–Performance Relationship of Coal-Based Lubricating Base Oils and Sensitivities to Typical Additives

open access: yesLubricants
The relationship between the structure characteristics and performances of coal-based hydrogenation isomeric (CTL) base oil and metallocene-catalyzed coal-based poly-alpha-olefin (mPAO) base oil is clarified in this paper. CTL and mPAO were compared with

Stabilization of unstable oxides

open access: yesBulletin of Materials Science, 1981
Easily oxidizable oxides, FeO, and MnO, are unstable in air but can be easily stabilized by small amounts of other oxides. Further these two unstable oxides stabilize each other very well. Such stabilized FeO and MnO provide easy and reproducible methods of preparing electronic ceramics that need such unstable valency states in them.

Multi-vanadium substituted polyoxometalates as efficient electrocatalysts for the oxidation of l-cysteine at low potential on glassy carbon electrodes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The electrochemical behaviours of the sandwich-type complex [As2W18(VO)3O66]11- were studied in a pH 7 medium and compared with those of the three following Dawson-type vanadium-substituted complexes: [P2V2W16O62]8- (P2V2W16), [P2MoV2W15O62]8- (P2MoV2W15)

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Study of the Antioxidant Power of the Waste Oil from Palm Oil Bleaching Clay

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Palm oil is one of the most consumed oils, one of whose refining steps is the removal of pigments and other substances using bleaching clay as adsorbent.

CO oxidation on Pd(100) at technologically relevant pressure conditions: A first-principles kinetic Monte Carlo study

open access: yes, 2008
The possible importance of oxide formation for the catalytic activity of transition metals in heterogenous oxidation catalysis has evoked a lively discussion over the recent years. On the more noble transition metals (like Pd, Pt or Ag) the low stability
