Tuning defects in oxides at room temperature by lithium reduction

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Defects can greatly influence the properties of oxide materials; however, facile defect engineering of oxides at room temperature remains challenging. The generation of defects in oxides is difficult to control by conventional chemical reduction methods ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Structural, morphological, thermodynamic, and magnetic properties of Sm2Ni2O5: influence of co-precipitation vs sol-gel synthesis

open access: yesPhysics Open
Crystalline Sm2Ni2O5 nanoparticles (SNONPs) were synthesized via Co-precipitation and Sol-gel methods to examine how synthesis influences structural, morphological, thermodynamic, and magnetic properties.

Sputtering of Oxides from LaNi5 Surface

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics, 2021
The changes in chemical composition of the intermetallic alloy LaNi5 surface monolayers were studied using secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) in the process of the alloy interaction with oxygen.

Double Group Transfer Reactions of an Unsaturated Tantalum Methylidene Complex with Pyridine N-Oxides

open access: yes, 2016
The electrophilic nature of the benzamidinate tantalum methylidene complex [TolC(NSiMe3)2]2Ta(CH2)CH3 (1) allows for reactivity with pyridine N-oxides, which leads to the formation of the tantalum oxo complex [TolC(NSiMe3)2]2Ta(O)CH3 (5) and ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Growth of Low-Temperature Epitaxial Lithium Niobate Thin Films and Guided-Wave Optical Properties

open access: yesPhotonics
LiNbO3 thin films are grown on a c-plane (0001) sapphire wafer at a relatively low substrate temperature by chemical beam vapor deposition (CBVD) in Sybilla equipment.

A mild method for electrochemical reduction of Heterocyclic N-Oxides

open access: yes, 2020
Deoxygenation of heteroaromatic N-oxides is commonly accomplished using chemical or enzymatic methods. In this work, we report on an expedient protocol for electrochemical reduction of pyridine N-oxide derivatives under mild conditions.
