Oxide Spintronics

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 2007
Concomitant with the development of metal-based spintronics in the late 1980's and 1990's, important advances were made on the growth of high-quality oxide thin films and heterostructures. While this was at first motivated by the discovery of high-temperature superconductivity in perovskite Cu oxides, this technological breakthrough was soon applied to

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Method of forming oxide coatings [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
This invention is concerned with an improved plating process for covering a substrate with a black metal oxide film. The invention is particularly directed to making a heating panel for a solar collector.

High Pressure Effects on Superconductivity in the beta-pyrochlore Oxides AOs2O6 (A=K, Rb, Cs)

open access: yes, 2004
Recently new pyrochlore oxides superconductors AOs2O6 (A=K,Rb,Cs) were found and we measured the pressure dependence of magnetization up to 1.2 GPa in order to deduce the pressure effect of Tc in the three beta-pyrochlore oxides.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Study of hyperfine interactions in spinel cobalt ferrite CoFe2O4 doped with Hf, Lu, and Yb using Mössbauer spectroscopy and perturbed γ-γ angular correlation

open access: yesКонденсированные среды и межфазные границы
We studied hyperfine interactions (HFI) in spinel cobalt ferrite (ferrospinel) CoFe2O4 doped with Lu, Yb, and Hf (1 wt. %) by Mössbauer spectroscopy (MS) on 57Fe nuclei.

Cyclic Oxidation and Hot Corrosion Behavior of Nickel–Iron-Based Superalloy

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2018
The high temperature oxidation and hot corrosion behavior of nickel–iron-based superalloy are studied at 900 ° and 1000 °C. The significant role of alloying elements with respect to the exposed medium is studied in detail.

Unconventional approaches to combine optical transparency with electrical conductivity

open access: yes, 2007
Combination of electrical conductivity and optical transparency in the same material -- known to be a prerogative of only a few oxides of post-transition metals, such as In, Sn, Zn and Cd -- manifests itself in a distinctive band structure of the ...
