Rutin enhances intestinal epithelial barrier function by upregulating TJ‐related proteins (ZO‐2, occludin, and claudin‐3), reducing paracellular permeability, and restoring Caco‐2 cell viability impaired by X‐ray radiation. These effects suggest rutin's potential as a natural radioprotective agent for maintaining intestinal barrier integrity under ...

Exploring Unspecific Peroxygenase Selectivity with Diverse Hydrocarbon Substrates
Unspecific peroxygenases (UPOs) are versatile enzymes that can be used for different reactions. However, selectivity of UPOs needs to be evaluated for the desired application. Thus, the selectivity of a panel of UPOs was evaluated in this work, and it revealed diverse reactivity profiles depending on the enzyme and substrate.

Dark‐operative protochlorophyllide oxidoreductase (DPOR) participates in photosynthesis by catalyzing the ATP‐dependent reduction of protochlorophyllide to chlorophyllide. Structurally and mechanistically resembling nitrogenase, DPOR′s mechanism was investigated using visible spectroscopy.
