Pharmacogenomics of human P450 oxidoreductase [PDF]
Cytochrome P450 oxidoreductase (POR) supports reactions of microsomal cytochrome P450 which metabolize drugs and steroid hormones. Mutations in POR cause disorders of sexual development. P450 oxidoreductase deficiency (PORD) was initially identified in patients with Antley-Bixler syndrome (ABS) but now it has been established as a separate disorder of ...

Particulate matter ≤2.5 µm (PM2.5) elevates risks of neurological and chronic metabolic diseases, but the underlying mechanisms linking PM2.5‐induced central nervous system (CNS) injury to metabolic dysfunction remain unclear. Hypothalamic pro‐opiomelanocortin‐expressing (POMC+) neurons regulate systemic metabolic homeostasis, and tripartite motif ...

EXPRESSION OF ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM OXIDOREDUCTASES (EROS) AND THEIR ROLE IN THE GI TRACT [PDF]
It has been shown that some ER redox enzymes are differentially expressed in stomach and oesophagus tissue. The tissues of the gastrointestinal system, which are subject to external changes of environment during the process of digestion, represent a ...

CDGSH iron sulfur domain 1 (CISD1) mitigates oxidative stress by promoting NADH oxidation and Coenzyme Q (CoQ) reduction. Under chronic stress, elevated CISD1 expression in microglia enhances NAD⁺ production, thereby increasing GAPDH activity and glycolytic flux, while reducing ATP synthesis by inhibiting proton transfer from mitochondrial complexes I ...

Oxidoreductases play crucial roles in electron transfer during biological redox reactions. These reactions are not exclusive to protein-based biocatalysts; nano-size (<100 nm), fine-grained inorganic colloids, such as iron oxides and sulfides, also ...

Periplasmic protein thiol:disulfide oxidoreductases of Escherichia coli [PDF]
Disulfide bond formation is part of the folding pathway for many periplasmic and outer membrane proteins that contain structural disulfide bonds. In Escherichia coli, a broad variety of periplasmic protein thiol:disulfide oxidoreductases have been ...

A (2R,3R)‐butanediol dehydrogenase from Bacillus subtilis (BsBDH) is engineered for the enantioselective synthesis of 2‐hydroxycyclohexanone. A PASS computational design strategy is proposed to enhance the thermostability of BsBDH. Moreover, ESM‐1v combined with ISM is utilized for enhancing and inverting its stereoselectivity.
