Detachment Faulting and Mantle Exhumation Beneath an Allochthonous Carbonate Cover: Insights From the Gouffre Georges (Lherz Massif, Pyrenees, France)

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 44, Issue 1, January 2025.
Abstract The Cretaceous North Pyrenean hyperextended rift system recorded HT‐LP metamorphism in the pre‐ and syn‐rift sedimentary cover during lithospheric mantle exhumation. We describe and analyze for the first time the rocks exposed in the Gouffre Georges, a deep cave in the Lherz peridotite massif (Ariège, France).

Correction of liver steatosis by a hydrophobic iminosugar modulating glycosphingolipids metabolism.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
The iminosugar N-(5'-adamantane-1'-yl-methoxy)-pentyl-1-deoxynoijirimycin (AMP-DNM), an inhibitor of glycosphingolipid (GSL) biosynthesis is known to ameliorate diabetes, insulin sensitivity and to prevent liver steatosis in ob/ob mice.

Predicting redox potentials by graph‐based machine learning methods

open access: yesJournal of Computational Chemistry, Volume 45, Issue 28, Page 2383-2396, October 30, 2024.
Abstract The evaluation of oxidation and reduction potentials is a pivotal task in various chemical fields. However, their accurate prediction by theoretical computations, which is a complementary task and sometimes the only alternative to experimental measurement, may be often resource‐intensive and time‐consuming.

Batteries for electric vehicles: Technical advancements, environmental challenges, and market perspectives

open access: yesSusMat, Volume 4, Issue 5, October 2024.
Electric vehicles (EVs) rely heavily on electricity sources, and their widespread adoption can lower carbon footprints, promote a green transportation revolution, and help combat climate change. Therefore, developing battery‐powered EVs is considered one of the most effective solutions.

Long‐term persistence of mitochondrial dysfunctions after viral infections and antiviral therapies: A review of mechanisms involved

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 96, Issue 9, September 2024.
Abstract Mitochondria are vital for most cells' functions. Viruses hijack mitochondria machinery for misappropriation of energy supply or to bypass defense mechanisms. Many of these mitochondrial dysfunctions persist after recovery from treated or untreated viral infections, particularly when mitochondrial DNA is permanently damaged.

Raman studies of suspensions and solutions of singlewall carbon nanotubes

open access: yes, 2005
Raman spectroscopy is used to probe the structure and electronic properties of nanotubes dispersed in a liquid phase. We show that the radial breathing modes are upshifted in suspensions due to the molecular pressure of the solvent. On the other hand, we

Measurement of the Casimir force between parallel metallic surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We report on the measurement of the Casimir force between conducting surfaces in a parallel configuration. The force is exerted between a silicon cantilever coated with chromium and a similar rigid surface and is detected looking at the shifts induced in
