Feasibility Study of an Iron-Based Composite Added with Al2O3/ZrO2 as an Oxygen Carrier in the Chemical Looping Applications

open access: yesCrystals, 2021
The chemical looping process is a promising approach for carbon capture. Oxygen carriers play the crucial role of carrying oxygen between oxidation and reduction reactors.

Reversible carrier-type transition in gas-sensing oxides and nanostructures

open access: yes, 2010
Despite many important applications of a-Fe2O3 and Fe doped SnO2 in semiconductors, catalysis, sensors, clinical diagnosis and treatments, one fundamental issue that is crucial to these applications remains theoretically equivocal- the reversible carrier-

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Argon assisted chemical vapor deposition of CrO$_2$: an efficient process leading to high quality epitaxial films

open access: yes, 2016
A comparative study of the structural, microstructural and magnetic properties of CrO$_2$ thin films grown onto (110) and (100) TiO$_2$ rutile single crystal substrates by chemical vapor deposition (CVD), using CrO$_3$ as chromium precursor and either ...

Averaging of the electron effective mass in multicomponent transparent conducting oxides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We find that layered materials composed of various oxides of cations with $s^2$ electronic configuration, $XY_2$O$_4$, $X$=In or Sc, $Y$=Ga, Zn, Al, Cd and/or Mg, exhibit isotropic electron effective mass which can be obtained via averaging over those of

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Observation of the quantum Hall effect in epitaxial graphene on SiC(0001) with oxygen adsorption

open access: yes, 2012
In this letter we report on transport measurements of epitaxial graphene on SiC(0001) with oxygen adsorption. In a $50\times 50 \mu\mathrm{m^2}$ size Hall bar we observe the half-integer quantum Hall effect with a transverse resistance plateau quantized ...
