Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Lithium and oxygen dimer diffusion in solid-state oxygen-redox cathode materials: insights from neural network molecular dynamics

open access: yesScience and Technology of Advanced Materials: Methods
In conventional Li‐ion battery cathodes, redox activity is centered on transition metals; by contrast, lithium‐rich oxides in which lattice oxygen participates in the redox process have attracted widespread interest in recent years, not only because of ...

Oxygen: problems and solutions in electrochemistry

open access: yes, 2013
Different aspects of the electrochemistry of oxygen are examined through four experimental examples: corrosion, passivation via organic thin films, oxygen reduction and water oxidation catalysis are outlined in order to outline the very different ...

X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...

Inhibiting metal phase separation of redox catalysts by balancing reduction - oxidation step in chemical looping dry reforming of methane

open access: yesFuel Processing Technology
The suppression of metal phase separation in multimetallic redox catalysts during the oxidation-reduction process of chemical looping for efficient hydrocarbon activation continues to pose a significant challenge.

Phantom Pain Reduction by Non-ionizing Electromagnetic Treatment

open access: yes, 2010
Based on our years of experience testing a technique called non-ionizing Electromagnetic-Own-Signal-Treatment (EMOST), here, we present our preliminary results for phantom pain reduction by this method under clinical circumstances.

Solution‐Processed Two‐Dimensional Indium Oxide on Sodium‐Embedded Alumina for Reconfigurable Optoelectronic Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale two‐dimensioanl In2Se3 oxidized into InOx on sodium‐embedded beta‐alumina enables multifunctional reconfigurable electronics. Sodium ions accumulate within distinct spatial distribution under drain‐controlle and gate‐controlled operation. Drain‐control operation gives controllability of ultraviolet‐driven optoelectronic synaptic conductance
