p-Cymene ruthenium thioether complexes [PDF]
Abstract Thioethers PhC2H4SMe, PhC3H6SiPr and MeSAllyl form substitutionally labile monomeric adducts (p-cymene)RuCl2(SRR′) (2a–c) upon treatment with the {(p-cymene)RuCl2}2 dimer (p-cymene = η6-MeC6H4iPr-1,4). Pure adducts were obtained by crystallization from CH2Cl2/Et2O, and 2a,c as well as the bis(thioether) complex [ ( p -cymene ) RuCl

Dichlorido(η6-p-cymene)[tris(2-cyanoethyl)phosphine]ruthenium(II) [PDF]
The tris(2-cyanoethyl)phosphine (tcep) complex [RuCl2{P(CH2CH2CN)3}(η6-p-cymene)] (p-cymene = p-CH3C6H4iPr) was synthesised by the bridge-splitting reaction of the chlorido-dimer [RuCl2(η6-p-cymene)]2 with tcep.

Dichlorido(η6-p-cymene)(ethoxydiphenylphosphane)ruthenium(II)
The title compound, [RuCl2(C10H14)(C14H15OP)], is an RuII complex in which an η6-p-cymene ligand, two chloride anions and the P atom of an ethoxydiphenylphosphane ligand form a piano-stool coordination environment about the central RuII atom.

Tetraethylammonium trichlorido(η6-p-cymene)ruthenate(II)
In the title salt, [(C2H5)4N][RuCl3(C10H14)], the RuII atom shows an octahedral coordination in which the aromatic ring of the p-cymene molecule occupies three coordination positions.

The S1 ← S0 spectrum of jet-cooled p-cymene
The spectrum of the first electronic transition of p-cymene cooled in a supersonic jet was measured by resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionisation (REMPI) in a time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectrometer. The band origin is strong and appears at 270.61nm (air value). This spectrum is useful for the detection of p-cymene in trace analysis.

p-cymene based ruthenium complexes as catalysts

Dichloro(η6-p-cymene)(P,P-diphenyl-N-propyl-phosphinous amide-κP)ruthenium(II) [PDF]
The title compound, i.e., [RuCl2(η6-p-cymene)(PPh2NHnPr)] (2), was obtained in a 71% yield by reacting a toluene solution of the chlorophosphine complex [RuCl2(η6-p-cymene)(PPh2Cl)] (1) with two equivalents of n-propylamine at room temperature.
