Intracellular Phosphorylation of the Sendal Virus P Protein
Phosphorylation status of the Sendai virus P protein was examined during virus infection and compared with cell-free phosphorylation. P protein from Sendai virus-infected (VI) and P/C gene-transfected (PT) mammalian cells and from purified virions (PV) was phosphorylated at only serine residues.

Non-dispersive phloem-protein bodies (NPBs) of Populus trichocarpa consist of a SEOR protein and do not respond to cell wounding and Ca2+ [PDF]
Differentiating sieve elements in the phloem of angiosperms produce abundant phloem-specific proteins before their protein synthesis machinery is degraded.

Computationally designed variants of Escherichia coli chorismate mutase show altered catalytic activity [PDF]
Computational protein design methods were used to predict five variants of monofunctional Escherichia coli chorismate mutase expected to maintain catalytic activity.

Regulated mitochondrial DNA replication during oocyte maturation is essential for successful porcine embryonic development. [PDF]
Cellular ATP is mainly generated through mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, which is dependent on mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). We have previously demonstrated the importance of oocyte mtDNA for porcine and human fertilization.

Insights into the Membranolytic Activity of Antimalarial Drug-Cell Penetrating Peptide Conjugates
Conjugation of TP10, a cell-penetrating peptide with intrinsic antimalarial activity, to the well-known antimalarial drugs chloroquine and primaquine has been previously shown to enhance the peptide’s action against, respectively, blood- and liver-stage ...

Intravitreal GD2‐Specific Chimeric Antigen Receptor T‐Cell Therapy for Refractory Retinoblastoma
ABSTRACT Effective treatments for advanced, treatment‐resistant retinoblastoma (RB) remain limited. GD2‐specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells show potent antitumor activity with minimal toxicity but have not previously been evaluated in RB.

Proteins in either a native or denatured conformation often aggregate at an isoelectric point (pI), a phenomenon known as pI precipitation. However, only a few studies have addressed the role of pI precipitation in amyloid formation, the crystal-like ...

Bacterial fermentation and isotope labelling optimized for amyloidogenic proteins
Summary We developed a cost sensitive isotope labelling procedure using a fed‐batch fermentation method and tested its efficiency producing the 15N‐, 13C‐ and 15N/13C‐labelled variants of an amyloidogenic miniprotein (E5: EEEAVRLYIQWLKEGGPSSGRPPPS).
