Higher-group structure in lattice Abelian gauge theory under instanton-sum modification

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
We consider the U(1) gauge theory on a four-dimensional torus, where the instanton number is restricted to an integral multiple of p. This theory possesses the nontrivial higher-group structure, which can be regarded as a generalization of the Green ...

Topological B-Model on Weighted Projective Spaces and Self-Dual Models in Four Dimensions

open access: yes, 2004
It was recently shown by Witten on the basis of several examples that the topological B-model whose target space is a Calabi-Yau (CY) supermanifold is equivalent to holomorphic Chern-Simons (hCS) theory on the same supermanifold.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Determination of the Active Power Filter Type Based on the Component to be Compensated

open access: yesGazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi, 2018
Power converters affected by nonlinear loads cause the current from the grid. Because of this harmonic distortion current and voltage wave forms of grid becomes sum of the fundamental component and other sinusoidal components having different frequency ...

How to overcome the limitations of p-q Theory: Geometric Algebra Power Theory to the rescue [PDF]

open access: yes2020 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Europe (ISGT-Europe), 2020
This paper investigates the recent advances in Geometric Algebra-based power theory (GAPoT) and how this tool provides new insights to solve the flaws of one of the most widespread theory in the time domain, the Instantaneous Reactive Power theory (IRP) and its further enhancements. GAPoT can be applied to single-phase and multi-phase systems to obtain

What Do We Know About the Strange Magnetic Radius?

open access: yes, 2002
We analyze the q^2-dependence of the strange magnetic form factor, \GMS(q^2), using heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory (HBChPT) and dispersion relations.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

The solution of some persistent $p : -q$ resonant center problems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2018
The notion of $p:-q$ resonant center was introduced recently and studied by several authors. In this paper we generalize the notion of a persistent center to a persistent $p:-q $ resonant center and find conditions for existence of a persistent $p:-q ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

On the K-theory of C*-algebras arising from integral dynamics

open access: yes, 2016
We investigate the $K$-theory of unital UCT Kirchberg algebras $\mathcal{Q}_S$ arising from families $S$ of relatively prime numbers. It is shown that $K_*(\mathcal{Q}_S)$ is the direct sum of a free abelian group and a torsion group, each of which is ...
