Two Types of Solutions to a Class of (p,q)-Laplacian Systems with Critical Sobolev Exponents in RN

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2018
We focus on the following elliptic system with critical Sobolev exponents:  -div⁡∇up-2∇u+m(x)up-2u=λup⁎-2u+(1/η)Gu(u,v),  x∈RN; -div⁡∇vq-2∇v+n(x)vq-2v=μvq⁎-2v+(1/η)Gv(u,v),  x∈RN; u(x)>0,v(x)>0,  x∈RN, where μ,λ>0 ...

Five‐Year Outcomes of Laparoscopic Sphincter‐Preserving Surgery for Rectal Cancer: A Prospective Study in Elderly Vietnamese Patients

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This prospective study demonstrates that laparoscopic sphincter‐preserving surgery is feasible for elderly patients. While overall survival reaches 70% at 5 years, advanced T‐stage and the omission of neoadjuvant therapy significantly drive recurrence, highlighting the need for personalized geriatric protocols despite logistical challenges.

Efficacy of Intermittent Theta‐Burst Stimulation for Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Emerging evidence suggests that low‐frequency neural oscillations are dynamically regulated by consciousness levels, with the recovery of low cortical activity potentially serving as a neurophysiological substrate for conscious emergence. Targeted enhancement of these low‐frequency rhythms in patients with disorders of consciousness

WAYS OF P-Q THEORY MODERNIZATION FOR WORK IN NON-SINUSOIDAL UNBALANCED VOLTAGE CONDITIONS

open access: yesElectrical engineering & Electromechanics, 2013
Two different techniques of P-Q instantaneous power theory mathematical apparatus modernization for shunt active filters are analyzed. Both techniques are equal in nature while different in implementation.

Non-relativistic limit of the Mielke–Baekler gravity theory

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
In this paper, we present a generalized non-relativistic Chern–Simons gravity model in three spacetime dimensions. We first study the non-relativistic limit of the Mielke–Baekler gravity through a contraction process.

Iterative Algorithm for Solving a Class of Quaternion Matrix Equation over the Generalized (P,Q)-Reflexive Matrices

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
The matrix equation ∑l=1uAlXBl+∑s=1vCsXTDs=F, which includes some frequently investigated matrix equations as its special cases, plays important roles in the system theory.

Innate Immune Reprogramming Mediated by Endogenous Retroelement Dysregulation Drives Multiple Sclerosis Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...

Reciprocal non-relativistic decoupling limits of String Theory and M-Theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
It has recently been realised that there are supersymmetry-preserving non-relativistic decoupling limits associated with each half-BPS object in String Theory and M-Theory.

Active filters with control based on the p-q theory

open access: yes, 2000
Due the intensive use of power converters and other non-linear loads in industry and by consumers in general, it can be observed an increasing deterioration of the power systems voltage and current waveforms. The presence of harmonics in the power lines results in greater power losses in distribution, interference problems in communication systems and,

Paramagnetic Rim Lesions Are Associated With Trans‐Synaptic Degeneration of the Visual Pathway in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Retrograde trans‐synaptic degeneration (rTSD) from posterior visual pathway lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by hemi‐macular ganglion cell‐inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thinning and contralateral visual field loss.
