The P300 component in sleep

Physiology & Behavior, 1988
The present investigation utilized the P300 component of the auditory evoked potential as an index of information processing (discrimination) in sleep. Auditory evoked potentials were recorded to target and nontarget stimuli during sleep stages 3/4, 2 and REM under two probability conditions.

P300 and the menstrual cycle

Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology/Evoked Potentials Section, 1988
Event-related potentials (ERPs) were elicited with an auditory discrimination paradigm in 20 adult female subjects on the first day of their menstrual cycles and approximately 14 days later. The amplitude and latency of the N1, P2, N2 and P3 (P300) components were measured for the two assessment times.

Operant conditioning of P300

Biological Psychology, 1992
This study demonstrates that operant conditioning may increase the P300 component of the event-related potential above a level obtained without contingent training. An experimental group of subjects was rewarded for producing large P300 amplitudes and was compared with a yoked control group which was rewarded on a random basis.

P300 and probability in children

Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, 1989
The P300 event-related brain potential (ERP) was elicited in three groups of 12 children each, ages 5-9, 10-14, and 15-19 years. A simple auditory task was employed in which subjects indicated with a finger movement when a randomly occurring target tone (high pitch) was presented in a series of standard (low pitch) tones.

P300 and blink instructions

Clinical Neurophysiology, 2000
The effects of instructions to refrain from blinking on the P300 event-related brain potential (ERP) from auditory and visual stimuli were assessed. An oddball paradigm was employed in which young adult subjects (n = 20) silently counted the infrequent target stimuli and were given either no instructions or told "do not blink" in different conditions ...

P300 seasonal variation

Biological Psychology, 1991
The P300 (P3) event-related brain potential (ERP) was elicited with auditory stimuli in four different groups of normal, young adult subjects (n = 20 in each group) whose ERPs were obtained at different times of the year. P3 amplitude was largest during spring and summer and smaller for the subjects who were assessed during fall and winter.

Season, gender, and P300

Biological Psychology, 1994
Light therapy in patients with seasonal affective disorder has been reported to enhance visual P300 amplitude. This findings raises the possibility that variations in P300 occur naturally in nonpatients as a function of seasonal variation in sunlight. In the present investigation, P300 was studied in a sample of psychiatrically screened normal subjects

Stimulus Specificity of P300

Neuropediatrics, 1993
P300 recordings are valuable and noninvasive neurophysiological research tool to gain further insight into higher cerebral function. Due to methodological and technological restrictions the clinical applicability of these investigations for neuropediatric purposes was limited.

Event‐Related Desynchronization and P300

Psychophysiology, 1987
ABSTRACTThe information processing demands of frame time, cognitive load, and event rate were examined with respect to the duration and amplitude of the event‐related desynchronization (ERD) and the event‐related potential P300. The central question was: are ERD and P300 cortical indices of the same attentional processes or resources? It was found that
