P311 Influences Macrophage Polarization

Physiology
Obesity is a pandemic disease that has become a serious concern worldwide. In United States, recently self-reported obesity rates of adults were escalated to 40%. In the early phase of obesity, excessive macrophage infiltration and disequilibrium of macrophage phenotypes (M1 vs. M2 or vice versa) play a critical role in the microenvironment of adipose

P311-induced myofibroblasts exhibit ameboid-like migration through RalA activation

Experimental Cell Research, 2006
We previously showed that P311, an intracellular protein involved in cell migration, is found in human wound myofibroblast precursors (proto-myofibroblasts) and myofibroblasts. Furthermore, by binding to the TGF-beta1 latency associated protein (LAP), P311 induced NIH 3T3 cells to transform into non-fibrogenic myofibroblasts characterized by lack of ...

Identification of ITGB4BP as a new interaction protein of P311

Life Sciences, 2012
P311 is an 8 kDa protein that has been shown to be of importance in the process of myofibroblast transformation, glioblastoma invasion and nerve regeneration. However, the interaction protein of P311 has yet to be found. The purpose of this study was to find the interactive protein of P311.The yeast two-hybrid system was used for screening the ...

234-LB: Role of P311 in Adipocyte Plasticity and Metabolic Regulation

Diabetes, 2022
The prevalence of obesity in the United States and worldwide has increased dramatically over the past 20 years. Currently it is affecting about 40% of adults and more alarmingly about 20% of children in the US. Obesity is a major risk factor and comorbid condition for chronic metabolic conditions like insulin resistance, Type 2 diabetes and ...

P311 KO Mice are Protected from Experimentally Induced Lung Fibrosis

Physiology
Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a fatal chronic interstitial lung disease and one of the most irreversible forms of tissue/organ fibrosis. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a very progressive disease accompanied by inflammatory damage with a median survival of less than 5 years.

P311 regulates immune cells towards anti-inflammatory phenotype in adipose tissue

Physiology
Adipose tissue is a heterogeneous organ that regulates metabolic health and is functionally associated to the immune system. This heterogeneity extends to adipose tissue resident immune cell populations including M1/M2 macrophages, neutrophils, B-cells, T-cells etc.

[Expression and significance of P311 and ITGB4BP in non-small cell lung cancer].

Zhonghua zhong liu za zhi [Chinese journal of oncology], 2011
The aim of this study was to investigate the expression and significance of P311 and ITGB4BP in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Tissue microarrays were prepared from 80 NSCLC specimens and examined by immunohistochemistry. The positive rates of P311 and ITGB4BP expression were 77.5% (62/80) and 82.5% (66/80), respectively.
