On a p(x) $p(x)$-biharmonic problem with Navier boundary condition

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2018
In this paper, we study a p(x) $p(x)$-biharmonic equation with Navier boundary condition {Δp(x)2u+a(x)|u|p(x)−2u=λf(x,u)+μg(x,u)in Ω,u=Δu=0on ∂Ω. $$ \textstyle\begin{cases} \Delta^{2}_{p(x)}u+a(x)|u|^{p(x)-2}u= \lambda f(x,u)+\mu g(x,u)\quad \text{in ...

Existence and uniqueness of solution for p(x)-Laplacian problems

open access: yesBoletim da Sociedade Paranaense de Matemática, 2014
This paper shows the existence of weak solution of a problem which involves the p(x)-laplacian with some dierent boundary conditions. The proof of the result is made by Browder Theorem.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

The Dirichlet problem for the $p(x)$-Laplacian with unbounded exponent $p(x)$

open access: yes
We prove the solvability of the Dirichlet problem for the variable exponent $p$-Laplacian with boundary data in $W^{1,p(x)}(Ω)$ on a bounded, smooth domain $Ω\subset {\mathbb R}^n$. Our main focus will be on an a.e. finite variable exponent $p(\cdot)$ with $n < \inf\limits_{x\in Ω}p(x)$ and $\sup\limits_{x\in Ω}p(x) = \infty$ under the sole ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

The PI3Kδ inhibitor roginolisib (IOA‐244) preserves T‐cell function and activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Identification of novel PI3K inhibitors with limited immune‐related adverse effects is highly sought after. We found that roginolisib and idelalisib inhibit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells and Treg suppressive functions to similar extents, but roginolisib affects cytotoxic T‐cell function and promotion of pro‐inflammatory T helper subsets to a

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
